AuthorMercenary Ledger
Mercenaries’ Guild — it appears like it has been there for as long as the Empire itself in its zenith. Today it is hard to believe that the fierce temper of mercenaries once had to be suppressed by force. Much has changed since then, but their iron principles have always remained unshaken. This was the basis of their well-earned reputation, but not all their principles appealed to most people. Particularly — the notorious red tape with contracts, where each paper is nearly valued more than a sword, and their issuing procedure is as strict as the military code.

"Not our area of responsibility... Not our profile... Incorrectly executed request..." spoke the leader of the Mercenaries’ Guild — a stern warrior, of whom his scars alone could tell a great deal. You could see in his eyes a curious mixture of weariness, irritation and a sense of duty being done, as if he was not sitting behind a desk in his office but leading a combat operation. His eyes reflected the calm fire of the burning candles and the continuously flickering words of the composed contracts, which, once read, were orderly arranged in multiple stacks of varying heights. "And that’s sheer suicide," he said aloud again, commenting on yet another contract read through.

Suddenly, the candlelight’s reflection quivered, and his pupils flicked upwards for a brief second but calmly turned back down in the same instant.
"Apologies, master," came a rough voice from a soldier entering the chamber.
With a fist on his chest and his head bowed in a greeting gesture, he limped towards the desk and put two unsigned contracts on it. After taking the contracts and glancing over them both, the Guild leader finally raised his gaze at his subordinate.
"Great contracts! What’s the matter now?" His voice carried strictness but sounded perfectly calm.
"This conceited bastard said, the job was beneath him," was the resentful response. "He wants something greater, something worthy of his ‘Lord status’," scornfully snorted the subordinate.
The old warrior didn’t bat an eye. A regular work situation. His eyes ran over the piles of contracts in front of him, then froze, pausing on the fire of one of the candles. A glimmer of a fresh idea emerged in it.
"How much time has he got left there?" he asked.
"According to protocol, another ten and a half minutes of waiting time," a crystal-clear answer was given immediately.
"All right then, let’s find him something ‘greater’. We’ll see what this Lord is made of." A shadow of a discreet chuckle appeared on the warrior's stern face.

Lords and Ladies! The Mercenaries’ Guild is seeking daring and self-confident men of courage to fulfil a number of particularly delicate contracts. The payment is promised to be appropriate and fully covering the potential costs and risks. And the most successful performers are to be awarded with glory, honor, and special gratitude of the Guild’s leader.

Reciprocal contract terms:
- Contracts can be issued to any Lord and Lady of Combat level 5 and higher;
- Fulfilling standard and challenging contracts is allowed in shop artifacts (enchantments have no effect);
- Fulfilling particularly easy contracts is allowed in any artifacts (enchantments have no effect);
- The variety of contract objectives is endless — and everyone is sure to find an opponent to their liking and abilities;
- The main goal of the event is to fulfil as many of the most challenging and manageable contracts as possible;
- Important! On each stage, the Guild offers you a list of 4 contracts of varying difficulties, from the hardest to the easiest. You may choose any. In case of victory, the new list of contracts will be offered. In case of defeat, you can either try your luck in a battle with another enemy from the list or retry the same enemy. After 2 defeats to the same enemy, battles with them will become unavailable. The defeat limit for the easiest contract is 5, after which the task will be automatically skipped without gaining any points.
- Important! Each stage offers a similar type of enemy for all players, however, enemy armies may distinctly vary for each player in terms of their troop composition and number;
- Fulfilling a contract yields from 5 to 10 points, depending on its difficulty;
- Important!The overall contract difficulty of each stage may vary depending on your personal successes in previous battles. Winning against the hardest enemy (10 points gain) increases the difficulty of all enemies of the next contract. Winning against one of the two easiest enemies (5 or 7 points gain) decreases the difficulty of all enemies of the next contrac in varying degreest. Consistently winning against the second hardest enemy (8 points gain) slightly increases the overall difficulty level. In the case of 5 defeats on the easiest option, the difficulty of all enemies of the next contact will also be decreased.
- Important! The overall difficulty has a higher and lower limit. The starting difficulty of the 1st stage can be either decreased or increased. The highest difficulty is reached with a series of successful fulfillment of challenging and standard contracts (for 8 and 10 points). All battles are potentially beatable;
- Important! The overall contract difficulty is also affected by your faction and class, which you used to fulfil the contract of the previous stage — this value can either go up or down;
- A successful fulfillment of each contract yields its own reward, listed before the battle begins. The reward may include gold, Mercenaries’ Guild points, elements, creature armaments, stacks for Leaders’ Guild reserves, diamonds, and parts of special artifacts. The amount of gold awarded upon winning is determined by the overall difficulty level of the current stage. Some rewards (such as parts of special artifacts) may become unavailable for easier battles if the overall difficulty is greatly reduced;
- On day 1, the contracts of the first 10 stages will be available. Each subsequent day 10 more stages will become available, up to the 70th stage inclusive;
- Important! You cannot improve the result of the completed stages. A successful fulfilment of any contract will automatically close the current stage;
- The top 75 military clans and all their active members will be specially rewarded. Awarding will be based on the final clan ranking, where the final result will be equal to the sum of the points scored by the Top 100 Lords and Ladies of the clan;
- All unblocked Lords and Ladies of successful military clans will be rewarded if they contribute at least 400 points to their clan;
- If a member leaves or is evicted from their military clan, the clan loses all of that member’s points. If the member rejoins the clan, the clan gets their points back;
- Leaving the clan on the last day of the event and before the award ceremony is forbidden;
- From the second day of the event and onwards, military clans may accept no more than 3 players a day while the event lasts;
- Important! Lords and Ladies who scored over 350 points will not be able to join any military clan until the event is over;
- The event will last for 10 days, through April 19 inclusive.

Extremely important! During this event, the "Battle Exhaustion" system is in effect. Starting from the 15th turn of any battle, the Lord’s or Lady’s 'Mana recovery' talent and their troop abilities 'Life drain' and 'Battledive' will cease to function, while all enemy units will gain the ability 'Attentive' as well as an increase in initiative and speed. Notifications corresponding to this exhaustion will appear as a warning 1 turn before and at the onset of exhaustion.

A successful fulfilment of certain contracts yields special artifact parts. In total, you can get up to 20 parts of Fear Mask and up to 20 parts of Magma Ring:

All Lords and Ladies who succeed in fulfilling 12 or more contracts will be rewarded with a trophy artifact and a corresponding achievement in their profiles. No additional rewards other than those listed in this announcement are planned.
