Moments slipped away one after another, merging into an eternity of one endless battle. The enemies were countless. The ground had already disappeared under the mountains of their bodies, but they nonetheless continued to savagely rush into the attack. The defenders’ strength has long since dried up, and the wrath has died down. Only courage fought on, paired with stubbornness. But those too, were already burning out. However, the enemies still did not know an end - impermeable darkness was approaching, soon replaced by a flash of blinding light. The sounds of combat began to fade, painfully echoing somewhere on the edge of consciousness and bringing upon the longed-for moment of silence. In between this scene, like thunder across a bright sky, a familiar voice reverberated. Court mage Abu-Bakir?.. The last fugitive thought before the mind finally weakened.

"What’s the situation, councilor?" maintaining a majestic composure, the Empress queried, turning her gaze to Feurlis who had arrived with a report.
"Rumors of the heroic death of chief…" the necromancer immediately stopped and corrected himself, "khan Hothead are spreading across the steppes right this very minute. As well as the shame of the runaway khan. He himself, apparently, was found. Someone very similar to him was seen in one of the distant fortresses. He is wounded but alive, and is believed to be gathering supporters to restore his crumbled power. As for our friends, fortunately they also survived. Despite their wounded pride, they are determined to continue the fight. Alas, many tribes chose ignorance, refusing to believe the words of strangers and a rebellious shaman. Their blind loyalty to the runaway khan is still quite strong. A protracted political crisis is brewing in the region. Just as planned," he finally summed up, promptly asking, "What are our next steps, Your Majesty?"
"Observe and wait," the Empress responded briefly and confidently, and then added, "As one friend of the Empire said: sometimes death may save many more lives than life may destroy."
"Wise words, Your Majesty," Feurlis noted sincerely, "I will inform you as soon as there is information that requires your attention. With your permission," bowing his head respectfully, he remarked while getting ready to leave, "I need to get busy preparing to solve another pressing problem. The Empire’s roads and surrounding lands have been covered with ‘dirt’. They need to be cleaned up a bit…"

The Empress is grateful to everyone who responded to her call and without excusing themselves, selflessly made their significant contribution to the fulfillment of the set task. The fate of the steppe tribes is now in their own hands, and the future of the Great Steppe depends on their desire for freedom. The threat of a major war has been postponed for an indefinite period of time. Its durability depends on the number of event points earned and combat level:
