The gloomy prison guard’s ship, moored in the haven of Harbor City, has been unconsciously spreading a feeling of mild anxiety and even fear amongst the local workers for several days already. And only over a mug of ale in the embrace of the carefree atmosphere of the port tavern could they finally relax a little and forget.
"What’s going on?... Have you heard anything about them?... When will they set sail?...", murmured the well-built dockworker, who had already gotten quite tipsy while finishing the rest of the ale at the bottom of his mug and throwing another coin into the hands of the owner of the place.
"Who the hell knows…", the plump innkeeper replied, immediately checking the coin with his teeth and grinning gleefully, "They say the pirates are on the rampage again. They put the island under siege. Another naval skirmish is brewing…", he continued, filling a mug with another pint of booze.
"Double the work, triple the pay?..", the thug said with a wry smile, wrapping his hand around his order, "The lords and ladies pay handsomely… At least some moral consolation…", at a certain point, the ale once again flowed like a river into his throat.
"Why are you so nervous about?", the innkeeper queried, squinting slightly, "You think the ‘Sheriff’ can catch you too?.. For that case of rum?..".
Hearing the last words, the dock worker suddenly choked, spitting out the half-drunk ale right onto the bar in front of him.
"I told you…", the loader objected while coughing and clearing his throat, "It was my brother!"
"I thought you said… cousin?", the innkeeper illustratively pondered.
"Well yes, cousin…", the thug’s eyes darted slightly from side to side, "And who is the cousin? He is a brother. Yes, that’s right - a brother!.. So, don’t yell about it again", the loader looked around cautiously, and then added, "And that rum ended up going to a good cause… It was fun, wasn’t it?!."
"There was one ‘merry’ fellow here, who was also involved in good deeds per his words. Do you know how it ended?..", the innkeeper paused for a bit, maintaining a captivating delay, "They executed him. In public. Twice!", he fell silent again, observing the emotions on the thug’s face churning one after another, and then laughed cheerfully, "Relax! Their ‘fish’ there is noticeably larger than some port rascals. Drink up and gather strength, but don’t overdo it. They don’t pay sloths."
Lords and Ladies! The restless pirates are back at it again, blockading the East Island. The island prison fortress defenders urgently need both military and material assistance! To prevent a riot or an escape, we must break through the pirate blockade and deliver the materials necessary for the restoration of the island fortress.
All Lords and Ladies of combat level 5 and above are invited to travel to one of the rally points to take part in the rebuilding of the island fortress and lifting the pirate siege. The battles against the pirates are held in 1-on-1 format.
Economics and ships:
1) For every tonne of goods you successfully deliver, you will earn 1 silver;
2) Imperial workshops will accept silver as payment for cannon improvements for your existing ship or upgrades to a bigger, better ship with more cannons;
3) Each ship has durability, which decreases by 1 with every haul to East Island. Keep an eye on it and don’t forget to upgrade your ship to a more powerful one;
4) The more tons of freight your ship is carrying, the stronger the pirate who will intercept you at sea;
5) Each ship’s freight capacity has lower and upper limits. The Empire values its fleet and will not let ships out of the harbor unless they carry a minimum load of goods;
6) Upon loss in a sea battle, you will lose 100% of your freight;
7) The selling prices of goods on the island are updated hourly;
8) The cannons' parameters depend on their upgrade level and your combat level, but not on your character's parameters.
