I was bored and not able to face writing references for my students, so quickly built a spreadsheet to calculate break even points on Abu-bakr.
Me, procrastinate, never...
So the logic being with Abu-Bakr - irrespective of the other advantages the 1.5 labourers guild points will make it self sustaining, the question is at what level of enrols per day does this happen and how long will it take to reach it.
The logic simply being that by gaining additional LG levels you will hit a higher multiplier quicker and so regain the gold you invested.
For the purpose of my model I needed to assume an average salary. For this I went with 200 as I reckon this is probably what I average, if not higher than this.
My findings were that in order to pay off the 50k cost in a timescale that was not going to take decades you needed to average around 12 enrolls per day or more.
At 12 enrols per day on average you would be in profit compared to not buying Abu-Bakr hen you had reached approximately 23340 enrols.
If you averaged 3 enrols per day it would be in profit when paying 50k per month for Abu-bakr after only 5760 enrols,
While at 14 enrols per day it would take a mere 2400 enrols before it was financially better to buy the Abu Bakr than to not.
As such if you are in any doubt whether to get it or not, the answer is to get it as a matter of course if you suspect you enrol close to 12 times per day - or 360 per month.
I am not sure if I quite make that number or not, but that is of course evaluating it purely on the financial basis without considering any of the other significant benefits from it. At 10 or 11 enrols per day, while it may not mean you actually profit from paying for it every month, it also probably means that it doesn't actually really cost you when you consider the advantages it has given you.
Therefore I think there should be no question from anyone of whether to buy it every month if you are doing 10 or more enrols. Just do it.
Less than this and it depends upon how much benefit you personally feel from the other benefits.
What I now need is just a rolling monthly Abu-Bakr subscription. Just automate buying it again the moment it runs out. | I don’t want to feel obligated to enroll every day | for reaching lvl 8 to 9 you would need 4k point normally it would take 4000/12 ~333 days on abc it takes 4000/18~222 days, profit made will be 0.2*111*12*240=63,936. cost for abc for 200 days is 333,333(considering you stop purchasing abc as soon as you reach lvl9). so how do you make a profit out of it? | * profit made will be 0.2*111*12*200=53,280. | Ultimately it's more time efficient to hit higher lg levels faster to get the extra def, quite hard to put a value to that | doubling inventory space is all i need tbh. | for 1234qwer:
You have to consider that the benefit of Abu bakr with lg points is forever. Once you have got that extra multiplier, it impacts all future enrollments. As such your calculation does not factor that in which is why it points to a different conclusion. Model it with what it would do from the beginning and I assure you, with 12 enrols per day you have more gold overall than if you didn't. And once you are ahead, it just keeps getting you further ahead, very significantly so to be honest. Obviously however there is a bit of wobble since the assumed 200 per enrol is just from feel and so could be worse. | for 1234qwer:
You were right to be critical, I had made a mistake in my table. I had worked out total earnings at monthly intervals for different numbers of daily average enrols for with Abu-Bakr, but when comparing this to my column which did not have Abu-Bakr, I had not updated it for the higher enrol rate, so was still on my starting point of 10 enrols per day.
It is not too long until Abu-Bakr gives a 0.2 multiplier advantage on gold, then will get to a 0.4 advantage.
However, in order to break even per month with a 0.2 mutiplier advantage then
multiplier gap x average wage x enrols = 50000
For a 0.2 gap, with 200 wage this means that you would require 1250 enrols per month, or 41 per day........
Once you reach a 0.4 gap in multipliers when comparing having always used Abu-Bakr compared to not, then you need 625 enrols per day to break even for that month. That is 20.8 enrols per day, which is still not realistic.
The current experience table for Leaders guild does not extend far enough to get to a point where one could realistically get to a benefit of 0.6
This of course is only getting to the point of breaking even for that month, without considering the need to make profit to offset the previous expenses.
AS such, ignore my previous waffle. IT is not (as perhaps should be expected) some amazing thing which makes financial sense to always have. |
