You have prison guards, they have been the main stay of my wins. If no hero it is them, sometimes with another meat troop, sometimes with a shooter.
For heroes led by an enemy I have tended to take one full stack of lizards and then Spellcasters for high damage low hp. If they have more hp or have a tower or whatever I take 2 lizard stacks and some double hitting pirates (I cannot remember the name of the troop) |

I think it is a bit rude when they have battles with extra waves but don't directly let you know. I did suspect, but want sure.

| Re battle type, I clean forgot you can now look at formations, and with those with waves there is a boat on the right hand side. Only got to level 50 before I actually bothered to do this. A bit stupid really and probably only gained me the time it has taken to write in the forum..! |

Had a bad start to today, forgetting dwarf hero has runes, so advanced instead of waiting so he wastes speed runes, then managing to hit auto by accident the second time around which did me no good. Still going OK, but easily better

This one was tricky if too many magic damage dealers then not enough hp they rush you and die. If you go 2 lizards you are too weak as they mass darkness you, balance of one lizard and rest magic dealers worked

This one I mucked up, realising need poison to get through full metal, but spiders are squishy so need to be quite careful with them. There is a chance you could win with just meat and let your catapult do the work, just didn't try it myself
