as for spending some money for in game perks its really quite simple. some of us make a lot of money and have no issue dropping couple hundred or even thousands of dollars.
same could be said for buying alcohol or drugs or cigarettes or coffee every day. i do none of those things so i have lots of extra money floating around so the occasional $50 on this game is nothing. Its all about what you prioritize in life and what you are willing to spend money on. | Most of those with $1M+ have been playing for more than a year.
Doesn't take long to level up your Laborers' guild to 3-4. At level 6, you earn double, at 11, you earn triple (11 does take a while to reach). Plus, lots of other ways to earn gold (for example, do hunts and mercenary quests with minimum arts, and sell the rewards on the market).

Since you have asked, I've decided to give you the path to riches as a F2P (free to play without diamonds). But before that, a few ways to get to 1 Million gold.
The no-no way (never do that under any circumstances), this is the king's road to failure: Bet in the roulette. Never and I mean, never use to roulette if you aim to be rich. Don't get biased by those who win. Look and the ratio of players who are losing money each round!
and now for the main course:
The rich person guide to wealth: buy diamonds and plenty of those. Moreover, buy them when there is a sale that gives you rare artifacts. You can sell rare artifacts for a substantial amount of money. Invest a nice sum of money and you will enter the millionaire's club in no time.
The lucky way: A few years back, the admins gave shares for every player in the game. The shares cost now about 750K gold per share. So, selling your shares could help you reach 3/4 of your goal and sometimes even more.
The self made player way: this is the longest and most tiresome way, but at the end, you will reach your goal.
I registered on 2021-07-22 00:17. I enrolled as much as I can before the penalty (workaholic) was imposed on me. I played always with minimum AP. Didn't play tournaments or PVP where I was inferior to other players. I play mainly PVE. I saved my gold for TGI. I played events that were quite lucrative albeit my rank was in the lower scale. I sold every rare artifact, element and anything of value in the market for a fair price. It took me about two years to obtain that wealth. The key is very simple: be modest, don't be tempted by events that your chance of success are slim to none (LG events). Don't play LG unless you break even of have some surplus.
In sum, be patient, be cautious with your money (don't spend gold if it is not necessary), enroll regularly, do HG and other profitable tasks. That's the secret in a nutshell.

Me my self have spend some money on the game too,so no shame in that cause I too don't drink,smoke etc.!I love that the game is always implementing new things and fun ideas thats why I am not against dimonds(For example those images,25 diamonds those are nice and I am thinking to grab one formyself;D)My highest gold in account was 160k on my main davids1956!Spend that all and then some random dude gave me 80k!That was a surprise!
