The minor tourney takes place, factions wise we get best fighters, gold and silver medalists then fight for a bigger prize and trophy. Repeat each month.
Entry to the tourney with bigger prizes IF you do great at minor.

I like the idea of a ranked tournament in general or better still some kind of league. I think at some levels/factions there wouldn't be enough players to make a tournament interesting.
A league where you have to defend your title would be kind of cool. It could be like a 'squash ladder' or 'tennis ladder' if you know what that is?
It's a way for tennis clubs to have a ranking/tournament system in a casual way when people can't all show up at the same time for games. You can challenge people a ladder step ahead to move up and those below can challenge you. The players decide on a time for the game and ladder position is adjusted dependent on outcome.
The only problem with both of these is that you will know (or can infer) who you are going to play against and and can alter build accordingly. Might have to be inter faction.
It would be cool though and there would be some prestige around being definitively the best for your level and faction, people would fight for the title. If you don't keep up with your games you move down the ladder. |

| Acean is describing something close to what I tried setting up in the past. Where each level has champion sort of like weight classes in boxing. The problems was no one was interested in joining, most of the levels were empty or only 2 or 3 players, nobody really wanted to play the duels when there is no way to do it in CG |
