Author | [2020.01.18] Day of New Hunts |
Astrologers proclaim the Day of New Hunts! Only today:
A new creature has been permanently added to the list of creatures that can be hunted - Trashers.
Only today, your chances of encountering this creature in hunts are much higher than usual. |
Note for admins:
tHrash = beat, strike, bash etc...
trash = garbage
:) |
for krovak:
Trash (Verb)
To Damage or destroy
Be careful that you are not in the wrong when you correct someone else. :p |
for krovak:
They turn you into garbage :p |
for Lord MilesTeg: Thanks for explaining, did not know that :) Fortunately i am not a native speaker so I do not have to feel that much ashamed :D |
He's not wrong though. Thrasher is the more fitting name for its Mighty Slam ability. |
Thrasher does sound better. |
Trasher doesn't make as much sense as thrasher either. So i agree with Krovak's logic :) |
Always love to watch a spirited debate |
Trasher = Destroyer
Thrasher = Who beat (a person or animal) repeatedly and violently with a stick or whip. ( from google )
Trasher seems to make more sense.
Interesting debate haha |
Thrasher might have copyright issues with the magazine/clothing brand :)
Hence trasher |
for Viod:
I thought about that but would there actually be a copyright issue? Sounds absurd lol |
for Doug Judy:
He does have a stick and he can have multiple turns to hit. So thrasher! |

Don't you see the big stick he carries? |
Although you can say you "trash" (destroy) somebody, the word is usually used for objects or structures. When it's combat-related (against other beings), thrash is more appropriate. |
Thrasher might have copyright issues with the magazine/clothing brand :)
Lots of copyright issues admins are already facing i don't think they mind one more.
Also trasher or thrasher here would not mean the same
Trashing a home or item vs thrashing a person or animal
Normally trashing is done with reference to an inanimate object yes.?
In this game all battles are against creatures (living or dead) but animate.
Hence thrashers should be the right name. |
Don't you see the big stick he carries?
Yep clearly seems like a thing which is good for destroying things, rather than whipping around :p |
for Omar Contreras:
A decent point, though I think it works the opposite way. This creature first came out involved with the destruction of villages events where you had to protect then. These creatures more than any other tended to destroy buildings. |
