Find the remainder of
8^828/167
Please tell me how to do it , thx
Calculator dies doing this :( |
Find 167 as a power of 8, then take it away from 828? |
I would do it using log. Can get a very close approximation without calculator if you remember log values.
log 8 is 0.9 so just multiply with 828/167 which gives about 4.5, then all you need is 10^4.5 |

167 is a prime number
Also obviously you cant take 167 as a power of 8 until in decimals the value will be like 2.... something and the power of it 8 will be 825... making it more complex

I didnt get what u did :(
Also if anyone figures out a way the answer is 107 |
Btw i forgot to mention that using log also lets you mentally solve any 10^x where X has decimals within seconds if you remember log 1-10 values :)
For example, 10^8.7= 10^8 x10^0.7 ; if you know that log 5 is 0.7 then that gives you 5 x10^8 as the solution directly :) |

Yes but that's not something usable in question
I tried using scientefic calculator it just shows infinity which is dumb =( and neither I could find on internet ;( |

lol no way, it cant be 107! |
lol no way, it cant be 107!
Obviously the answer will be less than 167 |
8^828/167
are you sure this is your question? |
Yup |
Obviously the answer will be less than 167
Its not so obvious to me, do tell why you think so. |

You are a diving a number by 167 , how can remainder be more than 167??? |
ohhhh remainder lololol
jeez.
I was just telling you how to solve 8^828/167
without calculator lmao |
Yeah i only just realised remainder |
8^828/167
for Bunnie:
You should write it as (8^828)/167 or 8^(828/167) next time maybe... I think the way you write it there is no way to be 100% sure if 167 is part of the exponent or not. How do you expect people to help you with remainder if they don't even recognize what your question is. |
I agree i wasnt quite sure which way :P but missing the word remaindeer was my bad |
LoL |
(8^828)/167
+ |
8^(828/167)
If it was this I would just do on the calculator |
and how are you doing (8^828)/167
?
I actually don't like using calculator, but i don't know how you would calculate 8^828 without one and then divide that by 167 using one. This seems like one of those questions that isn't really testing your math, but simply meant to waste time. |
