Author | Has hypnosis and berserk from sirens a HP limitation? |
... e.g. like the player's berserk spell?
In case, does anybody know the formula? |
I was about to tell you "Try looking here", but nothing appears... :P

I mean, if you press "Control + F", type "Siren", and look both Spells, you will realize they are there, but they dont specify the Formulas.
They do with stuff like Fireball of Lorekeepers, so its weird...
Whatever. |
Yeah, I looked there too, and discovered the same thing. If you go by the information on that page, then there's no HP limitation. But I watched a few battles with these creatures, and they don't target big stacks, even though it would be more beneficial for them to do so. I doubt AI is that stupid, so there must be a limitation.
If I had to guess, I would say that they can target only stacks with total HP no higher than theirs. |
Actually, it must be way lower than that. A stack of 27 seducing sirens (24 hp each) won't hypnotize a stack of 44 bowmen (7 hp each). |
This is the reason why I asked.
I had the similar impression with the siren combat of the third campaign. I was splitting evenly stacks to avoid to have a really strong and dangerous stack, but then I noticed that they were targeting small stacks...
For Berserker spell, the limitation depends on the spell power as:
80+30*SP or
140+40*SP
would the siren SP be equal to stack units? or maybe it is mitigated with this N^0.7 as other creature spells? Maybe the same formula applies to hypnosis...
How the seduction ability of demonic temptresses work? In that case, it says "any enemy stack"... |

This thread has more on temptress ability. Basically it's limited by target health size. |
Beserk would work based on the usual spell power formula for a hero, just each siren has a spell power, just like genies/lores/shamans |

Damaging spell formula for troops is different than hero one and is not even a linear increase.
Magic punch
Magi
Deal 1+19*N0.7 physical damage to target enemy stack.
Lorekeepers
Deal 1+24*N0.7 physical damage to target enemy stack.
Hero:
Magic punch
20+4*Spell power
25+5*Spell power
30+6*Spell power
35+7*Spell power |
Thanks to everybody
So the bottom line:
- hypnosis, differently from Temptress Seduction (always succeeds but duration depends on HPs), **seems** to target only stacks with HP not larger than a certain boundary, i.e. similar mechanics of berserker spell
- This limit formulas for both hypnosis and this creature version of berserker are unknown, but very likely scale slower than linearly with the sirens in the stack. |
