Authorpicture captchas instead of enroll code
since few days i have to click button "i am not a robot", then have to click on pictures (all with cars, with streets or others), mostly several times, when i wish to enroll. It happens mostly at evening, next day can enroll normally with code. Is this new? and if, then is really annoying.
It's been around for a while now. If you enrol a lot in a single day (like 14 or something)
The game has been randomly replacing the game's captcha with Google's one.

Google's one would normally render the "I'm not a robot" one so long you are on a device with a mouse. It uses your mouse movement to determine whether you seem human enough. But sometimes you are not very convincing, so they double check with an additional more complex mechanism.

On mobile devices as there is no mouse movement to track, they would always fallback to the primitive but annoying mechanism of categorizing images.

It is beyond the control of this game's developer which captcha Google devices to show you.

Google is also using you, while solving captchas, to perform some other work. I am not exactly sure whether to train their AI, or to double check its work, or a combination of them.

Remember when captchas were random bits of text images? They were using you to read scanned book papers. Then they were displaying house numbers from street view. Now I believe they are trying to identify where stores are on street view.

This isn't true, I've had simply the "I am not a robot" every day (more or less) from using my mobile.
Oh, and I forgot why I brought up the last point. There is an incentive for Google, even if you proved to be human enough, to still show you or someone else, from time to time, an additional captcha in order to achieve their other goals.

You are correct. They are using more than just mouse tracking to determine human behavior. They have tracking cookies of your activity all over the internet with the help of Google ads.

So indeed surely not always, but I've found it more likely to happen on mobile. For me it skips the "I'm not a robot" one completely and has me pick images. And by the time I manage to solve it in several attempts, there's no more gold in the facility.

yes, and that is the annoying part, even if you get them correct you get more series and after 3 o 4 i get button "pass", when i click that, pictures disapper and can click "enroll" to read "no vacancies" or "not enough gold in facility"
but anyways, thx for answers and is good to see, i am not the only one with that issue. So now can close this
