Author | Adobe is ending Flash support in 2020 |
(I think it is the right forum for this, or I have not found a better fit)
Are devs already aware of this (you can easily google for it)?... is there any plan for the continuation of this game without the Flash player? |
Hm, I have read that exact news today and I was wondering the same. At least a verbal commitment would be nice and reassuring although we are in 2017 and we have 3 years ahead so don't fret (yet). It would be a shame if such a good game (that good that I've been playing it for a decade more or less) wont outlive an obsolete coding language. |
Heyo.
Can somebody explain the 'Consequences" that this will have for players in the game? ?
For those who don't understand much of computers like me... :P |
Major consequence - We cant play battles without flash :P |
I don't imagine there will be any bad consequence. I guess they might be forced to change the platform if there isn't enough resources to by then to maintain flash service via some third party. |
Doesn't chrome run it's own version of flash? |
Doesn't ending support mean ending flash updates while the Flash Player itself will remain? Like Windows XP |
In a couple of interviews with Maxim, this question has come up. Flash has been losing ground to HTML 5 for years. Maxim said in the most recent interview that there were no intentions to make the move away from Flash, as it was too expensive. He did say, however, that if there was an urgent need to make the change then they would. |
