Ages ago, long before the Empire welcomed military clans as we know them today, two noble clans vied for the right to be called the greatest. Many illustrious heroes swore allegiance toeither Manticores or Griffins to fight legendary battles for glory and fame. Alas, which side emerged victorious is unknown, and the symbols that adorned the banners and coats of arms of oldhave long turned to dust. The only safe guess is that the spirits of the mighty Manticore and the brave Griffin live on in many a heart.
Valiant Lords and Ladies, Warlord Grammith and the dwarf leader Tolgar are pleased to kick off the Grand Contest!

1. Any character of Combat Level 3 or above can take part by joining either the Griffins or the Manticores.
2. Challenges are accepted hourly at :00 and :30 minutes with the exception of a midnight break.
3. Battles will be conducted in 2 vs 2 format, like they did historically. Note that your opponents and/or teammates may be AI-controlled.
4. Only shop artifacts are permitted, and no enhancements take effect.
5. The Grand Contest will last 10 days, through June 12.
6. You may participate in the Contest until you reach 30 victories.
7. You will receive 1.5 times the normal faction skill points for all battles. You will also receive CG points unless your opponent is AI-controlled.
8. The Empire will handsomely reward all contestants after the event is over.
9. Every character who notches 3 or more victories will receive a special artifact (equipped in the backpack slot), either Griffin gonfalon or Manticore gonfalon, which may be equipped in contests.
