Author | Large creatures inside a Shooter's range (Bug?) |
So... I just did a hunt against Death Envoys, and I realized that depending which tile you choose when shooting (Envoys are Large creatures, thus they cover a space of 2x2) they may be or may be not on your range if they are at the edge of your shooting range.
Is this intended or a Bug? I didnt realize it till some time ago. But it doesnt always happen, thats why I ask.
And thx in advance. |

The thing is it may lead to damage reduction if you happen to missclick.
When you use Liches against a Large creature you can kind of choose where the damage splash will happen, but I do not think being in range or not should be dependant on which tile you click on.
I hope I explained myself properly btw. |
Well, I suppose that the shooting range is programmed for the tiles, not the creature, so this is most probably intended. You would need another kind of code to have your way of range been realized. Would be a matter for I&S forum. |
for Hiltrud:
Let me correct you, this is probably a bug because it doesn't always happen. I have noticed this for a long time and it doesn't make sense to me tbh. |
It's not a bug and whichever tile you choose will make you deal "in-range damage"
the arrow might seem broken but the damage will be same as that of shooting in range |
for Elvian:
That's the problem ;) That's what happens MOST of the time, not always... sometimes the arrow seems broken AND we really deal half the damage, which is clearly a bug. |
Combat example where this happens, please. |
Here are two battles from the last ST:

AND
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?lt=-1&warid=731685523
In the first one I clicked the "wrong" tile with GMB in the first wave, it took 2 shots to kill dark knights, whereas in the 2nd one I clicked the correct tile and it took only 1 shot. |
its not a bug it is meant to be, Best example why it is meant to be is due to the lich which deals aoe damage, damage is tile oriented and hence you can deal full or half damage if the creature is standing on the border depending which tile you click on |
for ANTI-hacker:
That's not what I was trying to say, the problem is that only sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. |
