i think the reward is pretty small.
They should have awarded some gold based on the battles won.

Here's what I posted in another thread:
It seems the equipments have about half the stats (damage and HP) they had in your last battle.
They appear in some types of MG quests but not others, for instance Monsters and Raid quests do not get them, while Conspirators and Army quests do get them.
