Here is my suggestion. I thought, what if the battlefields started playing a greater role in the outcome of the game? Let me be more clear. My thought was, how about battling in fields like
-An abandoned town. There would be buildings that occupy 2x2 or 3x3 tiles on the field. Flyers would be able to get on top of them and while there, they would not be able to attack or get attacked until they come down but ranged attacks would inflict double damage to them. Also, the building would have its own HP and if it was attacked and destroyed the creatures on top of it would fall and take damage. For higher levels the size of the battlefield, as well as the buildings, would increase.
-A forest with giant trees. Same thing, only if a player attacked a tree with a fire attack the tree would get in flames.
-A mountain field. This would be a field full of rocks.
-A snowfield. The snow would be really deep and would reduce the speed of every stack by 1, also every once in a while a snowstorm would damage every troop on the field.
-A labyrinth. This would be a complex battlefield where it would take more turns to attack, also shooters would inflict 30% less damage. Incorporeals and Flyers would be able to get through the walls only if there is no enemy nearby, and if they did they would move less tiles. Also, the walls would each have HP depending on the level of the players, so the creatures could also attack them.
These fields would be accessible in the Duels and Group Battles, so someone would choose a battlefield and it would be displayed in the description. I think it's a great idea, please tell me your thoughts on it! |
Sounds interesting
This idea can be used for events , but for normal PvP/PvE battles.. i think current system is good only |

Similar application can already be seen by admins in the Pirate Event. "Naval" battles, where Pirates take 15% less damage.
Also I'm sure there are future plans for battlefields with ponds, since we already have seen creatures with Amphibian ability, allowing them to move across "Ponds".
Wonderful idea, I'm sure will manifest soon. :) |
Looks great, requires players to be more adaptable. Would there be specific bonuses to certain factions in certain maps? For example I imagine dwarves would be much better suited to the snowfield map than demons would be.

Sounds like some real thought was put into it. Definitely worth studying.
However, a straight NO to anything that influences some factions vs others. Keep the changes neutral, ie usable by all in the same way.

+1 but isnt it already happening?? O.o |
+1 tiles which have special effect? great.
currently we only have goblin and gremlin trap and firewall spell. |

though game will get heavy then and those having PCs with lower specs will have hard time |

A good idea, well thought and realistic enough to be implemented at some point. Although it would be rather for PvE/events than PvP. |

Interesting.

I thought it would be good for the PvPs because it would require more strategic thinking, the game would become much more interesting. Also it would become livelier, in a realistic battle creatures would be able to do things like destroying parts of the battlefield. And as I said, a player would select one of these special battlefields and create a challenge so everyone sees the location in the description and decides if he/she wants to enter. The usual challenges would still be available. It would also be good for events but, holding a one-week event and never again? It would be great to have tournaments either in a certain battlefield (ex. Labyrinth Tournament) or tournaments where the field is randomly chosen. And, about the faction thing, yeah I thought about it. I mean, the Graveyard field would fit better the Necromancers but how would giving a certain faction the advantage be fair?
And, unlike the naval battles these fields would be really balanced. It would be your decision to get on top of a building to defend but be more vulnerable to shooters, and in the labyrinth the shooters would inflict less damage and if a ghost went through a wall it would then land on the nearest tile.
I am really glad you liked it, I hope my idea becomes a part of the game so that our battles become even cooler. |

And I am sure that this has been suggested before but why not tie in the ideas of abandoned towns, labyrinths and caves to a new Guild. Explorers Guild.
This could be based on the traditional troves from the original games.
As we already have enough bonuses to core traits, the bonuses for this guild could increase drop rates (eg: for hunts, mg quests).
What do you think? |

Have a field which is actually a building and you can go on different floors, so its like 4 simultaneous maps with a smaller size and you can make your troops go from one to another. |
Interesting suggestion...too bad they blocked him for that rofl |

It`s an impossible suggestion. I mean you simply can`t do it on an existing Flash player engine. And even if you can - it will be not very impressive looking and very buggy. Recourse of extremely high use of system resources.
You can do it if creating a game client program, but it means rewriting the hole game code. So, not worth it. -1 |
Pythonous here, I hope I am not too late.
To K5isback:
I thought of being able to enter the buildings but then again, would it make sense for invaders and gargoyles to be fighting inside an apartment? Not to mention, it would be too complicated for a single battle.
To Jophian:
I will be honest. I do not know very much about programming so you could be right. But the "Three-Dimensional Battlefelds" concept is not just about the buildings. It is also about the mountain field, the snow field and of course the labyrinth. I consider these possible, and I also believe the game designers could use a lot of creativity to make it amazing.
Anyone could post ideas about such battlefields since (in my opinion) it makes sense for the battlefield and how it is used to affect the outcome.
Another example: A beach field in which the sea tide would cover 1 third of the field. It would have its own turn in which it would rise and cover more of the field or drop and cover less. Troops it it would have reduced speed, so a flyer would go in the water to protect itself. |
And the town and giant forest could simply be fields with 2x2 obstacles similar in use to rocks. |
