AuthorElves best way to start off. Help and tips
I have just turned to the elf faction and am wondering if there is anything that I need to know specifically about this faction?
You should know about their unique racial ability, which you can find here: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=38

Other than that, I don't think there's anything else. You'll learn the rest as you play :)
Don't forget to choose a talent
I would say basic fortune as your first talent
Elves need a lot of luck

Good luck :)
need big faction level... and luck. ciritical+ luck is elfs power.

haha this is the important think which you don't know yet, see you did many battle without setting talent :)
center talent or fortune talent is good at CL5

there is a whole topic on general forum dedicated to elves. there are lots of questions and answers there. all you need to do is go there and look around.

Really not a good idea to change faction, when you do not have enough money even to buy druids on level 5!

Besides, this is a strategy game, if you want to be good with any faction, you must start thinking, that's the first and only rule.
really, try to equip a talent
character / talents
choose one... and then click apply
you can change your talent later (at any time when you are not in battle)
Take basic fortune like others said and make sure to set favored enemies in castle, so you can deal critical damage which procs more often once you reach higher faction levels in elf. Try playing PvE only since you don't have your druids(same tier as lizard cavalries from dark elf). As an elf, you have pretty good chances to win PvPs at that level, so don't completely miss out the chance once you get druids.

^He isn't asking for opinion. If he wants to try new factions, he doesn't have to wait until he collects enough to build everything. It can happen more gradually.
Also, this is a strategy game but there are alot of things i have had to learn before playing effectively.

He is asking for help, and your tip as elf is better than DE on PvP is just pure madness from your head.

To not mention, he has to build Avengers guild, magic guild level 1 (not necessary, but helpful.), spirites (please don't say they're useless, if you think so, you just don't know usem them.)
And he's 3 levels of fsl below than DE, which isn't a big difference, but putting his lack of money, with everything he needs to build on his castle, with full ap which is a must for GB battles, he would need like 80k, plus farm some fsl... Taking in consideration he didn't made any money until now, makes me take a conclusion he just doesn't know how to make money, and he'll never achieve this goal, or at least not easily.

It just doesn't worth at all, it's a silly idea, and I'm pointing it out. I believe telling the true, would be more helpful than incentive him to do stupid things.

Talk for youself. :)
Sorry if this is off-topic, but i'm forced to say that your post isn't what Jeffrey has asked for.

He switched to playing elf and wants to know more about the faction. There's no need for you to say its 'silly' especially since its not a high level switch, its totally fine.

I didn't write anything like elf beats DE in PvP, however i personally believe its true at lower levels with more shooter based army to have advantage. But then again, it also depends on the the players' tactics, its not as clear as rock beats scissors - therefore i just said that elves have pretty good chances at PvP at his level and i'm still holding that statement even though he doesn't have sprites/magic guild 1/crit damage that a normal level 5 elf would have.

Magic guild 1 and druids can be built if he wants to try out PvP earlier. Nobody gives a damn about what you think about him not making what it takes to play it. He is willing to try it, and he is in for a lot of fun playing a change. Min ap isn't expensive at all for any level.

I find Post 10 very unpleasant and i could retaliate better if it wasn't against the rules so lets take it easy from here.

I totally disagree with you, but I'll respect your point of view.

You're so mature, that's explain your line of thinking.
Anyway, if he plays GB with min ap, without spirites, without fsl, he'll screw his team.
I'm not saying if he do what I said, he'll never lose a game, actually he'll lose many and many games, with my tips or without them, cause the first rule about win a strategy game is thinking for your own.
A veteran player never will lose to a beginner, which doesn't know use his army properly.
Any faction at level 5, could be extremely OP, and don't lose to any other faction, with such rare exception for few factions, but overall a good PvP player, will win any challenge, doesn't matter which faction he's playing with.

Now, stop and think for just 10 seconds.
What could be a better deal, keep with DE, since he already has buildings, he already has fsl, and then start a new additional account as elf, which he'll use his invitation program linked on his main account, he'll build every structure on elf easily, he'll learn a little bit more about this faction on early levels, he'll make some fsl. he'll give some extra gold for his main account, cause of invitation program.
Smarter don't you think? Very simple, very obvious. Stay with simple, and you'll be good, always stay with simple.

I find Post 10 very unpleasan

I find you're pretty annoying, a little slow, and started this "fight" for absolutely no reason. But I didn't mention it until now, but since you're asking for it...

Anyway, you already gave your opinion, I already gave mine.
If he owner of thread will do a stupid think or not, it's all up to him, I'm not going to take it any further.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
