AuthorFriends bid on your auction
Is it against the rules or just somewhat questionable to start auctions in the market and let your friends make a high bid, only to buy the artifacts back if you didn't get the price you wanted?

Some warrior elf artifacts were on an auction in the market recently, obviously not intended to be sold at the wrong price.

I don't know the answer , but I have a question - Isn't it a huge loss in gold for the friends who did it?
I would be careful with involving other players.

Why not just bid on the auction yourself, instead of involving a third party

Perhaps he didn't have the money. But why not just set a higher starting price?

You tell me, it was you who wanted a friend to buy the art so you could buy it back :D
But I guess some examples of the situation could be if you decide you put to low price on second thought or an mistake.

Loan gold from your friend instead and bid on your own auction.

No, it wasn't. I didn't ask the question to do this myself. I just wondered because I noticed someone else did it.
But why not just set a higher starting price?
It sends out a very different signal to the buyers. A high starting price and no bids does not feel appealing. When you see the same price from a player you will be thinking "If he bids that much, it must be worth at least that much".

I can not find any specific rule that forbids it, but I would not do it myself.
No, it wasn't.
Sorry misread :)

Perhaps you could argue that it breaks rule 1.13 (financial assist).

I think u can't bid in your own auction. At least I don't have the bid button on my auction lot ;)
for Majblomma:
its not wrong. no profit to players in this case, why then its illegal ?
but bidding with multi accounts to boost main player arts is DEFINITELY illegal.

rule:
3.12. Bidding at the same auction lot is considered financial assist and, therefore, is also forbidden to additional characters.

You are right, you used to be able to do it though, not sure when they changed it. But a quick search indicates that it was during the last year

Also don't think it is illegal, but I would definitely not recommend it. It could look suspicious.

No
Micheal Lion and Sava do this all the time.
No

He can't bid on his own auction. That would allow the maximizing of the auction's gold gain.
