Hi all,
My main faction is elf and I won around +/- 500 caravans with it. Now the difficulty of the caravans are almost impossible to do as an elf. ( I havent won a single knight caravan in over 50caravans of knight as an elf Mostly even fought enchanted.) However, when I changed my faction to wizard , I could win another 150 without having any troubles. Now is my question, Is the difficuly from the caravans I receive as an elf different as the one I receive as wizard? I suppose it is because of what I just said?
And is it possible to decrease the difficulty of the caravans my elf gets when I'm playing as a wiz?
Or can I only decrease them by losing 100 times as my elf and getting minimal 0.30fsp?
And Is the minimal quantity of fsp you need to receive 0.3 to decrease them? So if I receive 0.11 It doesn't mater at all?
Hope my question is a bit clear... It's kinda hard to point out what I'm really trying to say.

Every faction faces difficulty in fighting against 1 or more factions .
Like Tribal face difficulty when fighting with dark elf, knight face difficulty in fighting with wizard etc etc.
This is the reason ppl build the faction resist.
The caravan difficulty will decrease only when you get more that .3 fsp(without the fsp bonuses) in a lost ambush.Sometimes it may or may not decrease even if you get .3 fsp.
Caravan difficulty is not calculated separately for all factions.
If you lost a caravan then your next caravan difficulty will decrease independent of last ambushed faction.
I assume there is a minimum difficulty level below which the caravan difficulty won't decrease for a given level,TG level, upgrades and the lost/won caravans. |
Can you explain why I couldn't win anymore when I was elf, but had a killing streak of 50 when I played as wizard?
Both at full gear.

because both faction have different tactics.
as an elf, you have to rely on your bri. uni, tree and efk to deal damage.
since most knight caravan are strong in melee(cavalry, griff, sword and brutes), you are doomed when you face them directly.
dont forget also elf unit are fragile if compare to the others.
as an wizard, your hero deal the most damage.
you only have to defend with your troops to buy your hero more time to cast spell, which means that enemy troops have to spend one turn to reach you(buying you 1 turn again)
also, with the sorcery talent, your hero could act much faster to zap those enemy.
if you visit the knight forum, i sure you will find most player complaint that wizard is hard to beat.
same theory could be apply in tg caravan.
your enchanted gar could run away from sword and brutes easily and your hero lay down serious damage.
hope this helps you.
ps: you may want to trade initiative to hit point for enchanted gar for longer survival. |
for Kunoichi_1:

I think that once you change your faction, your TG difficulty resets to a certain level (based on your level and faction).
Since you are playing as wiz in full gear, it is easy to win (for now).
To start winning as an elf again, you need to lose a number of caravans. But you need to lose by almost winning them, because the closer you are to winning them, the more will decrease the next caravans difficulty ;) |
This is interesting.
Does caravan difficulty reset when you change faction?
Seems SirM0rphius says yes and Murali and Lord hpsim say no. (if i read this correctly)
Anyone know the answer?

I'm quite sure that the difficulty doesn't reset when you change faction. But as said, every faction has its own strengths and weaknesses. So it's possible to change faction and have a lot of wins against caravans which were very hard before, and vice versa.
If the difficulty would reset if you change faction, thieving would become very easy, just change faction from time to time and do an ambush there to reset everything :D. I don't think the admins would implement such a thing ;-) |
This is not an answer for all questions, but still useful:
Q.5.30: What's the mechanics behind caravan strength drop after a loss?
A.: The strength of all caravans is dampened, regardless of the type of caravan that you were defeated by. The caravans' strength increases in the same way. The more faction skill points you gain after a defeat in an ambush, the greater the drop effect will be. |

Hmm, not really.. Mage caravan is 95% wins chance as a knight.. The mage will be bussy for 8 turns against clerics and Xbow..
But just watch kunoichi's knight caravans, I mean.. I've seen some caravans he does that have more then 75 grifs, 34 cavalry, 300 guards, etc..
I've won more caravans then he and still most of my caravans are easier then his knight caravans :). |
Do caravans' difficulty picks up where you left off if you level up? in other words, when you reach the next combat level, do caravans' difficulty gets reset, or it continues from where you were in the previous level? |
I had fast the same problem. I am fsp lvl 9 dwarf. I made caravans very easy by losing as a dwarf. Then i switched to tribal and the caravans were much much harder. I think strenght of caravans are independet of used faction and work separately when u have other faction. |
It's getting confused around here, can some admin enlighten us?
And for 11: If you reach a next combat level the difficulty will decrease a %.
