Especially those you have met only once.
Such a hassle making small talk with them when both of us know that half of what we are going to say are probably lies. This also usually happens when I am in a hurry so I always try to find an opening to excuse myself.
The worst part of it all is the "Let's keep in touch, okay?" when we probably wouldn't. *winces* |
It's polite to tell a harmless lie.
Thus, we are meant to be liars, aren't we? |
| Usually when this happen there's bound to be a relevant question or two, like, "What did you do after blalala?" or "Where do you work now?". Are you like a super secret agent where you have to kill people who know too much? As for the part about keeping touch, that usually happens but it's just one of those social rituals that you learn to deal with. I carry a phone with me for occasions like this but I keep my main number private. |
