Isn't there a problem with sharpshooters stats?

it says: "range 120".
Ok, that would be to avoid range penalty, i guess, so that they always shoot at max power.
But then, in the abilities..
"no range penalty"!
what's the point, then in having such a huge range? (considering that it will take a good while before maps get as big as 120x120)? |
It's an outcome of the ability only.
The range of 120 has been given to it BECAUSE it has no range penalty. |
I think if an enemy with No Ranged Penalty shoots you out of its range, its the same as if a normal shooter shoots you in range.
But if an enemy shoots you in range and it has got No Range Penalty, I think its the same damage anyways: 100% |

I can understand that, but why 120? I mean, magi have the same ability and "only" 100 as a range..?
If for no penalty there was a specific far range, i'd expect all troops having that ability to have the same range? Doesn't that make sense? |
It's called being too lazy to reprogram the game and just doing enough coding to make it work as intended.
Ideally the range should have an infinity symbol and even if the map exceeds 120x120, there would still be no ranged penalty :) |
I think they put in the first big number that comes to their mind... so long as its above 60-70 |
