AuthorQuestion regarding advertisements
Don't know if you guys have the same problem but since short I see advertisements on lordswm.

An example, when I'm reading forums I see some words underlined and when I move my mouse past it I get a pop up from some kind of commercial or advertisement.

At the beginning this didn't bother me, but nowadays its comming more and more, now even the word Hunt or Thief are underlined with all kind of advertisements..

Is this something that only I see? On my PC its even worse then on my laptop.. Is it something that happens to me? Or do you guys see it to?

Its just annoying seeing 6 advertisements poping up at one forum page..

And is there any way I can shut this down? Don't need commercials when I'm playing a game..
for Arcanide:
I am pretty sure u are usin mozilla
I had same problems
The sideline adv are something u can disable by customizing ur mozilla
But when u highlight the word and see that small adv box, click on it and it will open a new window with an opt to disable it
I'm using google chrome lately and also here its a reall plague.. :(
But I will try it!
Thanks
You have installed a browser that has an automatic search function, added by a third party, that puts forwards words according to an external database. since the database is getting fed with new words, you see more and more links appearing.

I don't know at what level this happens, it may be a plugin (just needing to unisntall), a core modification of one of the source codes (that is, you would be using a third party compiled browser), or even a virus (depends if this happens also in other browsers like windows native IE).

In the first case, you need to uninstall the plugin.
In the second, you need to reinstall the browser.
In the third, you will need to clean your disk, format, and reinstall everything.

In all cases, never install free programs from third party sites. Two times out of three, they had some sort of tuning, that will interest the distributor rather than the user.

Things like mozilla ought to be downloaded only from mozilla.org, or validated mirror sites.

Thanks, was planning to clean my disk anyways..
I will do that and then i'll hope it is all gone!

I did disable it, still keep getting them but less then yesterday!

So guess I'm gonna clean my entire pc :)!

Thanks guys!
