| why anglerfish didnt kill 1 monster eventhough it had only 1 stack of monster ?? i tried in ST |

The ability information you were looking at seem to be mixed up with Blade of Doom.
Devour:
This creature has a 25% chance to kill exactly half of creatures in target stack instead of dealing normal damage during its attack. |
go to the actual creature page... and put mouse over the ability devour. It says it kills at least 1 unit in a stack. Several times in ST have I been facing anglers and a low stack of 2-3 of them always kill 1 tree... no matter how few are in a stack, they deal 175-176 damage which means they kill at least 1 in a stack :)
My guess is it doesn't work on units with hp over a certain amount |
No, it was simply mixed up, there are a few other creatures that don't have the right explanation.

That isn't what it means. It means there is a 25% chance of the ability happening. And if it does happen, it will kill 50% of the stack. |
