can someone explain to me how to install scripts on chrome? step by step instructions.
i tried doing it the same way as in firefox but it's telling me "scripts can only be installed through google chrome web store" |
do you have the requisite program? i guess.. greasemonkey?

Hi, I've been trying this before on google chrome but as people say, Mozilla firefox is the best one to use it on.
On google chrome timer, calculater, talents etc don't work perfectly.
On firefox they all work perfect so i suggest you should use firefox ;)

It is pretty simple
1. Download script in a .zip folder
2. Extract the .zip folder
3. Find the [script name].user.js file
4. Right click -> Open With -> Chrome
5. It should install

that is exactly what i tried to do, and i got a message scripts can only be installed through google chrome web store
and i also GOOGLED IT but didnt find any instructions, that's why i posted here. |

Just because you think it's the latest version doesn't mean to say it is.
For instance I am running the Beta Developer version which is always like 2 version ahead of mainstream realeases |

That's why. Scripts can no longer be installed from third-party website. There is a workaround though. You haven't googled hard enough. |
And I present a workaround
1. Go to --> chrome://chrome/extensions/
2. Drag the .user.js file to that page
3. Click "Add"
4. It should now work
As a side note this will probably stop working in a later chrome update so I would instead recommend using this...

Personally I don't use tampermonkey as the dev version of google chrome lets you add whatever you want

hey.i had the same problem some time ago.
this will 99% work for u.(some scripts like the timer one dont work on Google chrome)
1.Downlaod the .zip file
2.unzip it with 7 zip or winrar
now im not so sure but if u do all i did than u should be successful in installing it.
3.drag the .js file to google chrome.
4.a pop-up will ask to install or discard the file.click install(on my browser,the pop-up was on the bottom left)
5.a pop-up will say that it can only be installed by google web store.
6.NOW go to the wrench menu.
7.go to Tools -> Extensions
8 drag the .js file u want to be installed there.
9.i dont remember the next part.maybe a pop-up will come maybe not.if it does,click install.
10.u should get the script name there with all ur other extensions like ur anti-virus.
11.Enable it.
12. ENJOY !!!
