choose basic erudition +2 attack or basic offense 10% damage increase?

Hobgoblins vs Farmers and Hobgoblins vs Cavalry
Hobs attack 4 ( Damage 2-2 ) , Farmers deff 1, Cavalry deff 21
Lets give +20 attack to hobs from arts , so its final attack will be 24

50 hobs with offense against farmers
Damage = N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] = 50 * 2 * [ 1 + 0,05 (24-1)= 215
215 + 10% = 236 damage
50 hobs without offense but +2 attack against farmers
Damage = N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] = 50 * 2 * [ 1 + 0,05 (26-1)= 225 damage
Here is better +10% offense over +2 attack

50 hobs with offense against cavalry
Damage = N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] = 50 * 2 * [1 + 0,05 (24-21)]= 115
115 + 10% = 126 damage
50 hobs without offense but +2 attack against cavalry
Damage = N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] = 50 * 2 * [1 + 0,05 (26-21)= = 125 damage
Here is better offense too but there is only 1 point of difference.
In certain point against creatures with high deffense is better attack points , but usually is better take offense. | I forgot to say above post apply only to melee attacks of course.

But you're a wizard so why not +2 spell power and solve all problems!! | | Sorry for double post, is basically, erudition will give you an additive bonus and offense is multiplicative (not that I take you to be an idiot, but it's just also for those who can't be bothered to read, like me at the start!) |
