This is an international server with no age requirement.
Perfect spelling is not a goal and I an others will not cease writing in forums even though we make errors (There is even mistakes in official parts of the game). If you cannot find enjoyment with out good spelling maybe lordswm is not for you. |

When I say "write better", I do NOT imply spelling or grammar and even typos. I simply mean that people can't seem to distinguish between writing on a forum and texting. In the informal setting of texting, abbreviations and complete lack of punctuations and capitalization are ok, but in a forum, you don't write "u" for "you", "i" for "I", "cant" for "can't". When you write like that, you sound like a 8-year-old.

Not everybody knows the grammatical rules of the English language, writing capital I instead of i is not common knowledge to all. We are many that are not native English speaking and we struggle (perhaps because we lack intelligence as you put it. But that is not a requirement to post in here.)
Why should we be chastised by people who seem to care more about having correct spelling than to try to be constructive and just enjoying our self in this great game? Lets forget these petty issues and try not to attack people for something so insignificant!
As for sounding like an 8 year old, that is your opinion. But let me remind you there is no age requirement and will you also be mad if an 8 year old write in here, or is he not allowed?! |

That's extremely shaky reasoning. You know quite well that's not true. People who write like that do so not because they don't know, but because they are just too lazy. It's not (lack of) writing skill that I find annoying; it's laziness. I'd rather take a bad translation from a non-English-speaking player than a post from an English-speaking player who can't seem to bother to capitalize "I".
And again you argue another point based on some weird assumption. Who said anything about an 8-year-old being allowed or not? All it means is that if you sound like an 8-year-old, then expect the level of respect that people normally give to 8-year-olds. |
