Author | Interaction of two players with same IP |
Hi,
I would like to prevent myself from doing something wrong, therefore I rather ask. I have a friend who works in the same company and although we have more computers here, we share the same network with one public IP address. We are both level 11 and up to now we have had negligible in-game interaction, however, from time to time we are tempted to play together - after all, that is what friends do, right?
I want to be sure about what is and what is not allowed, regarding rule #3.8.1 and related stuff, i.e. "Participation of several characters played from one computer in one combat is prohibited" etc.
My main questions are:
1) Can we meet in combat at work, where we sit at two computers, but both under one network and one IP address?
2) If not, are we allowed to do that when we are both at home, thus sitting at different (and also geographically distant) IP addresses?
3) Under which circumstances are we allowed to play card matches? Is it the same as with combats, or are the rules more strict/benevolent?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Krovak. | 1 answer for all your question. yes, with pre-condition that it wasnt a staged battle/card game.
but, i would suggest not to do so. since both id has record on same IP [your working place], you should understand that you are taking the risk | Better state in your description that you are sharing IP from time to time and play only with/against each other when you have different IPs. | Thank you guys for your input, although these are exactly the answers I did not want to hear.
I was hoping to see something like "obey these simple rules and you are safe", but instead it is "try it, but you might get punished at any time".
I have one more question concerning connection between a player ID and an IP address. If we strictly obey the rule of duelling only from different IP addresses, is it later possible for the admins to see that, or do they just see we were playing together and that we sometimes share one IP address? In the latter case we might look like cheaters no matter how hard we tried to avoid looking like ones. And it would be just up to the admin's decision if he or she believes in our honesty. | I was hoping to see something like "obey these simple rules and you are safe", but instead it is "try it, but you might get punished at any time".
not really. as you can see, we have alot players try to exploit any possible loophole to do something [cheating?]. as long as it wasnt a staged combat or card games, you are safe.
of course, you can argue that there is no such rules WHEN you get caught. but keep in mind that it would be just up to the admin's decision. they have the right to make final decision. | to avoid such stupid things, just listen pang... Here is my little tips :
1) When at work : Same IP Router / Different IP PC
- each of you write on your profile the ip cross
- avoid duel, PvP when in the same fight
- you can do hunt together as long it s not the same PC because there is no potential stagged combat or password transfer!
2) When at home : Different IP Router and PC
- you can duel
- you can hunt together
Keep in mind the logs, enrolls and many other things can help to be caught red handed! So just listen pang! | [Post deleted by moderator Patrickou // misslead infos] | Thanks again, I will follow your recommendations and hopefully everything will be allright;-) | closed by krovak (2012-04-12 17:07:23) |
