i'm going to be lvl 6 soon and i'm wondering if it's even worth repairing
what i'm asking is how long does it take to get high smithing lvl and would higher lvl weapons or armor lvl it up faster | I wouldn't say so unless you got a 100k base | I wouldn't say so unless you got a 9999k base
4k gold = 1 smithing points = 1 hour of repairing.
So it does not matter if you do small hunter items or big items. In the end you ll lose a lot (and then i really mean A LOT) of gold. | So it does not matter if you do small hunter items or big items.
In fact repairing hunter item is a good way to lose money. Since they have a low sell value but a high market value they don't let you improve your smith level much, but you are losing a lot of money.
E.g. a great hunter amulet did bring you 200 gold if you sell it directly, therefore one repair would cost you 20 gold and bring you 0.005 smith points.
But the true market value for such item at durability 10/10 would be 1,500 gold, at 9/9 1,200 gold and at 1/9 only 200 gold. (Roughly estimated)
So if you have it a 0/10 you could either repair it by yourself, pay 20 gold and can sell it for 200 gold (you gain 180 gold and 0.005 smith points) or your could let it repair by someone else that can repair to 90% for 25 gold and can sell it for 1,200 gold (you gain 1,175 gold and 0 smith points, but can invest this in smiting something else.)
But if you ask me - smiting isn't worth it. It is a big money trap. | http://www.lordswm.org/strony/eng/tutorials/006-smith.php#time_for_max_smith_level
You can read this.... | To reach top efficiency possible you need
2885 * 4000 = 11540000 gold
But, you can always reach 50% efficiency and then repair a few times before sellin your artifact which would give you a small profit before selling it (since a repair costs 40% of the original cost). To reach 50% efficiency you need to "waste" (it's not 100% waste, but still it's a cost) 1240000 gold. After that you can repair even your min AP arts yourself fast and easily and make some small profit day by day. I know, it's not worth it, you could always send all of your arts for repair to an experienced smith, but come to think of it ... will he/she always be available for you anytime you want ? |
