Here people can talk about quirky things they do in their respective countries.
For instance tonight I will be hosting an "Ugly Christmas sweater party." These are extremely popular in the USA during the Holiday season.
Anyone else do anything quirky? |
that's not something we do over here in germany, at least not as far as I have ever heard of.
anyways it sounds like this could be a fun event, have fun bro =D |
At home here in the UK it is cutomary for the British populus to 'cram their greedy filthy gobs' (to be said in a scouse accent) with 'yorkshire puddings' and 'pigs in blankets' both fine christmas delights. After putting on far too much weight over christmas fat middle aged men and women alike vow to join a gym in the new year as part of their new years resolution and then never go = P
On christmas day it is still traditional for some families to sit in their living room sipping english tea whilst listening to the queen's speech broadcast on BBC1. The elderly may insist that their grandchildren sit in ABSOLUTE silence for the duration of the speech before they can unwrap their presents. |
My Friend and me are start throwing firecrackers and for new year we re planing to be drunk =D enjoy and a happy christmas and happy new year :). |

Christmas for me started 4 weeks ago with the beginning of Advent (married a catholic) Followed by all kinds of family get togethers throughout the month of December, followed by a week at the mother-in-law's rural farm in almost Northern Ontairo. Back for a week of family time before going back to work with the followign week aka epiphany, hosting the other side of my In law's (divorced parents) culminating after the 12 days of christmas are over with Imbolic at the end of January.
Oh yeah, and Doctor Who on Christmas day some time. |

I can understand, my exams starts on 2nd January
But u all guys have fun and make most of the time :) |
Me and my friends (before we get married) usually met on christmas eve at midnight-mass in church (catholic).... but after we always went to a pub together :) |
For instance tonight I will be hosting an "Ugly Christmas sweater party." These are extremely popular in the USA during the Holiday season.

"Ugly Christmas sweater party."
I would love to attend one of those :P
I usually have a pre-christmas dinner where me and my friends exchanged tacky gifts...
...and here in New Zealand on Christmas day we will be eating christmas brunch and dinner - With cricket at the park in between :) (Even if it is a little sluggish from the food earlier) ;) |
@slayerofall
Hmm maybe it is a West Coast thing...although I have friends from a few spots in the US and they celebrate them too (IE Minnesota, New Hampshire, Massachutsetts, DC to name a few).
You should have one xD A lot of companies out here host them too for their employees. |
Trying to get over food poisoning so I can go out of town and see my family )-: |
