3rd, maybe fourth relevant comment and WOW, it's on the same page with the last one ...
It shows up 3 turns after the beggining of each wave. If you kill the wave within 3 turns, you won't see it, else you'll see it hitting "random" targets on the battlefield once a turn automatically. I think it shoots the closest enemy to it, but I can't assure you. |

#5 I think the closest one to the tower. Well, in my two and only ST battles it kept firing the same guy (who happened to be the closest to the tower). I don't know if it's coincidence.
