Hi all !
My question might sound stupid, but I hope you can take it ;)
I always think "Oh just another stupid brigands quest" when at the mercenary's guild I get a mission that wants me to escort a caravan to a location. The thing is, eventhough I like the style of the quest, I really hate it because I never know what faction I may encounter and most of the times I get the wrong troops and talents for that combat. Then I thought that it may have something to do with the territory (for example EB = Elves, BG = Knights etc), so, does anyone have noticed something like that ? Or isn't there any way to know what we may face when we travel with the escort ? Something is fishy here !! Why is that the only quest that it doesnt say what I must encounter in combat ? (retorical question)

They are random man!
When i encountered them in level 3,misty coast had barbarian brigand and then had elf!Though i have managed till last for barbarian,i was washed easily by elves with anchorites and druids! |
well, the reward gold offer has something to do with the difficulity,
i found in my battles that more gold it offered as a reward, the harder the quest will be

same here
i mostly go without arts
acron at level 3 u cant win from barb brigand also u can just try conspiracy
with 1 of my acount i was able to do conspiracy at level 3

hey i won 3 merc just with conspirators.I know i can't face brigands .But i tried to know the units at that time.

Exact there is a link between Gold reward and brigand level, but no way to know the faction you will face!
On eng.witchhammer.ru we had the scale to know the potential troops on each faction but no more now, it seems!
I will just say : 50 gold = very easy / 400+ = very very hard! |

| #15 wrong it s not random, there is a ratio between gold and Brigand level* (troops) but you are right to say there is a small % (near 5%) not to be ambushed by the brigand and won an easy MG point and the faction is random! |

I was referring to the original post...who you face in a Brigand mission is purely random. There is a gold correlation for ALL MG quests in terms of difficulty. More gold = harder. |

I have a big gap between my Brigands.
And I therefore now that it is NOT random. I have one under 27 gold I have beaten many times and not delivered cargo in time.
So in rare cases you can know which one you get, but normally you cannot since the gold varies in a specific interval for different brigands lvl |
| @19 That is true. However, if you do all your brigands evenly the gold values will eventually be the same/similar...and you won't know which is which...ie "random." But you are absolutely right that if you leave a brigand as "low" it will always be that same faction and easy difficulty...most people don't do that though. |
