Author | Prospects of TGI market price |
Hi, I was observing the auction of 10 pcs of TGI. Achieved price level was circa 1,000k. When you buy diamonds with gold and then buy TGI for 80 diamonds, it costs 1,200k. When you buy diamonds with cash each diamond is equal to 2,500 gold what means that 80 diamonds are equal to 300k.
For this reason I suppose that TGi price will always vary between 300k and 1,200k as long as the game rules stay the same.
I've checked on the .ru server that over there, there are 15 TGI auctions with prices starting at 800k. They also have TGI price 80 diamonds and 1 diamond is 1 euro.
I suppose that on .com server the price will also drop significantly. Every time another player buys TGI the future demand decreases and future supply is created. The new Thief will surely want to sell its TGI when achieving TG lvl 5.
What do you think? |
in com site price will not drop anywhere before admins start advert this server and more players come and with RL money buy those tgies. |
and when you buy with diamonds from silenthill you wont get tgi you get access to thievesguild and you get tgi on tg lvl 5 [Player banned by moderator Kiz until 2011-07-17 00:17:42 // Additional characters not allowed to post in Main Forums, relapse.] |
Interesting theory but you are forgetting about the profit people are making in selling tgi are higher prices, that would instead increase the tgi price, demands is not very high at the moment because there isnt many people playing, since months ago, server population increased a few due to events and many more, I am sure that people will continue to use diamonds to get TGI or buy from the market as usual, correct me if you must |

on .ru 1 diamond = 1USD not 1ˆ |

if he ever reaches TG5
Prices will float between 1 050 000 and 1 180 000 and that will most likely never change due to too many buyers / resellers that can make profit with it |
In my opion, Tgi is very expensive... You just can buy it whit diamonds, roulette or work per 1 year :(
It's bad for new players... Some time ago, the price were 600k... Or you could just rent one for 20k or maybe 50 at most...
Now TGI is just a form of profit money for the high players :( |
& Ciran, sorry for mistake, you are right it is 1 USD per diamond.
I still think that with time TGI price will drop, unless if many new players come to the server and want to buy it.
It is right that getting to TG lvl 5 may take 2-4 months and for this reason the TGI price may decrease slowly once another 1-2 ganerations of TGI passes through the game. |
for Sworks:
Its a way of life x]
Soon enough, if the server grows, the many low-levels will also lead the newcomers |
for Sworks:
Technically it's a form of profit money for the medium players. Most old time players actually bought for around 600k and sold for around 350k when they got their tgi back. Then later on with rule changes medium aged players who bought at 350k, sold for 1 mil when they got their tgi back.
That's what happens when prices change. Some would lose while others would gain. Now for new players if they buy at 1 mil and prices still stay at 1mil when they get their tgi back, then they wouldn't lose or gain anything.
The change is good for admins and donators because due to the high price of the tgi players donate diamonds to enter tg. Players thus avoid having to pay high tgi price and when they get their tgi back, they hope the prices are still so high.
Though lastly there's a group of players who buy tgis and try to inflate prices by selling high. I won't get into why this is bad for the game, the shady tactics they use, and the money laundering. |

Almost no one sees this happening. Getting to TG5 takes more than 2-4 months unless you play a lot and used enchanted arts. This means not everyone who enters TG would actually make it to TG5. This would keep TGI prices high and in shortage.
Furthermore the TG changes have been over a year, those who started receiving TGIs at TG5 got them several months ago. There hasn't been any significant dent to the market prices. In fact the cap made by the diamond mine had much more of an impact. |
I read that in the past, the thief gain a TGI when he arrived at level 2 and another in 4... Is that true? |
I read that in the past, the thief gain a TGI when he arrived at level 2 and another in 4... Is that true? yes back then their value was on 300k tough |
i had my tgi on loan for 20k, i gave it back in less than a week when i got lvl 2 tg and sold the second tg for 320k if i remember, the average price.
now is not this bad considering that you can donate 80 euros (not much for many players who spend MANY hours on this FREE game) become a thief and after a while get 1M gold selling it at lvl 5.
a game of playstation costs 60 euros and you stop playing after... 1 month? 2? dunno i dont have playstation :D. but here many of us played 3 years free. 80 euros is not much considering this |
Yes, those are for the old time players; most medium aged players didn't get that benefit. Old players got double tgis, but they lost money on their tgis since they paid more than was sold (unless they held out). Also anyone who received a TGI at TG2 didn't get another one at TG5.
The rule change and the subsequent market price changes affected some negatively while others positively depending exactly when you bought tgi, sold tgi, and played tg. It's not a simple matter of all old players getting an advantage and all new players getting ripped off. |
Suggestion:
New luxury auction rule: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=27
Any winning bidder who had a 'thief invite' transaction (whatsoever) has to pay a 10% tax (based on auction price) to Empire. Lets call it a thief management tax.
Any winning bidder who had an 'estate' transaction has to pay a 10% tax to Empire. Stamp duty anyone?
Our Lords millionaire give me some RAGE!!! |
for Gyver:
Good idea; I had previously called this luxury tax. A 10% (something high) tax would be placed on all transactions (market or transfer) for TGI, estates, rare arts, and whatever else that could be deemed as a luxury. |
Pantheon:
Introducing a tax for ALL transaction of luxury items will not solve the problem: rich become richer, poor stays at the mercy of the rich and feed the greed of the rich.
To make 'financially less fortunate' people a bit more competitive, the luxury tax should be applied ONLY after there was a transaction of said item/estate i.e. the bidder who was once in possession of such item/estate and want a second (OR MORE) must pay a luxury tax. |
for Gyver:
The tax (and other changes) should never be retroactive. Any game changes should only affect future transactions.
I did not mean the tax should be on all items such as resources; but only on luxury goods. My idea wasn't for the purpose of restricting the rich or helping the poor. The idea was to reduce speculation, gold laundering, and illegal transfers. All of which is good for the community and game economy (even the speculation part because market price is difficult to determine for the small market). |
I think that the auction made by Empire was the best way to cool down the demand for TGI. Before it, the prices were going up even to 1,200k gold and here you could buy it for a bit more than 1,000k.
I suppose that if another such auction happens within few months, the prices will decrease a bit again. Also more players would be keen to wait for such auction to happen again instead of buying TGI from players at 1,150k or something like that. |
