Everyone, and their mothers, in the Empire know why vampires are so infamous. Not for their ability to harness immortality by siphoning fonts of blood from their victims or their exceptional strength and speed, but for their impeccable ability to mesmerize prepubescent girls.

After the recent release of Councilor Feurlis’s romance/drama novel ‘Daybreak,’ teenage girls all over the Empire have been swooning over these morbid creatures. ‘Daybreak’s’ release has been set as a milestone for vampires throughout the Empire. Rumours have also been circulating around giddy schoolgirls that Feurlis was going to make ‘Daybreak’ into a trilogy.

Celebrating the 514th annual Countdown Festival, Lance-Angst-Corporal Brack pulled his cart into a clearing. His equipment held a bunch of basically broken weaponry, but times were hard in an economy he hardly understood.

A vampire curiously appraised the man from a moderate distance.

Great. Brack would have to trudge to meet it. A weapon, he required a weapon. Pulling out his bandaged Morningstar, he dragged it towards his victim. Hunted creatures were hobbyless, so he held no worries towards its flight. By flight, he meant escape of course – its age was too tender to tackle teleporting.

The vampire seemed equally destitute. Its garments were gaunt, and its grin was gummed in a grimace. Likely to keep the blood in, since he had heard they inhaled the liquid through their swords.

Brack stopped and sniffed the air.

Ahh, the vampire was carrying 23 gold.

~

Turns later, the battle began.

The knight smashed at the vampire’s sordid face with his mace of tangible distaste

Impact.

The knight leaned back in awe as motes of gruesome garlic kissed the air. It was a manner of exceptional slaughter; the garlic was quite ripe, to be fair.

Shattered, the creature contorted into a clump of cracked undeath.

It wasn’t over, though.

Brack knew that to truly defeat a vampire, you had to stand on it.

Thorgrimm the Bard plucked a few chords upon his lute, and then continued his spellbinding story:

"Forget the romantic images of the undead you might have heard about. The vampire is a ruthless creature whose mind is more animal despite the human body it still inhabits. If you should see one, think not to find mercy from these savage beings. Mark well its appearance and never waver in your resolve. Its milk-white skin and blood red lips are a clear indication of your enemy, but more know them by their sharp canine teeth and the dread fear that they permeate from their cold dead bodies. By the time you see these teeth however, it's usually too late...

Thorgrimm struck a hard chord just then, causing his hearers to jump from their seats with a shriek.

A vampire is a being cursed to hunger for the life-blood of other beings, and the only way to become a vampire was to be bitten by one and then be fed vampiric blood. But then, how did the first vampire come about?
The first vampire was named Camilla, a witch that desired eternal youth. She theorized that by stealing the life of others, one could renew their own. Thus she lured young men and women into her laboratory through guile and seduction, murdered them and drained their blood into storage. Each morning, she would, using a series of tubes and needles, drain out her own blood and fill her veins with blood from her victims.

After a while, she grew lonely as her peers all withered away while she stayed young, and longed for companionship. Thus she tried to perform the same blood-renewal process on individuals that she felt an attraction to, wanting to keep them as her servants and companions. It was these ‘companions’ that killed her in disgust over her necromantic ways, but, as they could not replicate her process, were forced to drink blood from others, or perish eternally. Thus Vampires came upon the world.

"Send all swordsmen to the Eastern fortress" commanded Lord Lexa.
It had been a month since the Vampires had started infiltrating the city. No one knows where these Vampires had come from, nor do they know what is their mission. Yet some intelligence reports suggest that these Vampires are seeking for some kind of revenge.
The Vampire hordes reached the eastern fortress within a day. The swordsmen were no match for the infiltrating Vampire hordes. Reinforcements were sent but to no avail. The city of Perisville had been captured by the Vampires. They had started terrorizing the inhabitants of the city, often attacking households and drinking their blood.
The Empress was very much concerned about the safety of her citizens. She called Lord Lexa and commanded "Call Arctic, we need him urgently".
Realizing the urgency of the situation, Lord Arctic, the Herald, arrived quickly on the scene. Lord Arctic was sent to the Eastern fortress along with a thousand Devils to tackle the Vampires. Within three days, Lord Arctic and his troops reached the Eastern fortress. But he was shocked to find that the fortress along with the city of Perisville had been destroyed completely by the Vampire hordes and they were no where to be seen! There was destruction everywhere.
Suddenly, a million Vampires appeared behind them...

With a blur he teleported next to his college buddy for their yearly catch up. "How's things, Vlad?". The angelic voice didn't lighten his mood.

"It's a joke. We were feared. Men wanted our power. Women fawned over us and did Our bidding. We weren't pathetic besotted lovelorn fools who would drop everything for a woman, and we Do Not Sparkle." There was a certain, lets say, blaze, in his red eyes as he said those last 3 words.

"I know. I am one of the Cherubim. The battle choir. The Seraphim may be the right hand of god, but in the fight with Morning Star, we were the front line. Now we are portayed as chubby little guys with bows. I grab a cake at morning tea, and the guys say 'Oi, tubby, shall I get your bow'. At least when someone yells out 'Hey, sparkly, didn't mum tell you not to play with your food' you can rip their throat out. The big guy frowns on me ripping some upstart lower angels wing off".

The servants of a necromancer, vampires, undead and eternal, are blood-sucking creatures that feed on the essence of life, satisfying their bloodlust without feeling any guilt, catching the scent of their next victim. It is almost unbelievable that these creatures were once human, tempted by the dark arts of the unholy, tricked into eternal servitude of the necromancer, by the necromancer. They are a source of unbelievable power; they drain the life out of living creatures and restore their own. Some say that they have corrupted the necromancers, twisted their minds into doing what is unjust. Perhaps that is what happened to our Detention Block Keeper Sir Councilor Feurlis. Imprisoning beloved Herald Arctic for an "unsigned slave," what a pathetic reason. It must have been the treacherous work of his vampirelords; after all, they have studied extremely advanced dark magic compared to the average vampire. They could have pulled it off.
