AuthorHTPI - Help the Poor Initiative
HTPI - Help the poor Initiative.

What is this?

Most of you might have guessed it from the title itself. It is an initiative to help those needy or simply, the poor in the Lords of War and Money community.

Who will be considered poor under this scheme?

For different levels, players having below a particular amount of gold (or assets equivalent ot the gold amount) will be considered as poor:

lvl 5 - below 2000 gold
lvl 6 - below 3000 gold
lvl 7 - below 4000 gold
lvl 8 - below 5000 gold
lvl 9 - below 6000 gold
lvl 10 - below 7000 gold
lvl 11 - below 8000 gold
lvl 12 - below 9000 gold
lvl 13 - below 10000 gold

[This scheme covers only players from lvl 5 - lvl 13]

How will this scheme work?

Refer to the above table to understand who will be counted as poor. Now, all the wealthy players in lordswm can contribute a bare minimum to the HTPI treasury. This gold will then be distributed to many players who are considered as poor according to the table. This scheme will be given only to those players who are below poverty line and have a clean transfer log. Also, they should never use this gold to bet in roulette if that was the root cause of them being poor.

Isn't this unfair to other players?

Let me make this clear. Those who will be helped by this scheme will be given only small amount of aid, either in the form of gold or artifacts. In the real world, the governments help poor through such schemes. Then why can't our community do this? This will be a scheme by the people and for the people.

Any suggestions on this are appreciated. If this causes any illegalities according to the game rules, pls let me know.

I don't have time to read this. Can u explain in a simple manner?

Frankly speaking, this is an initiative in which the rich people will contribute gold to the HTPI treasury. This gold will be distributed among those considered poor as a whole. This will help in improving the economic condition of many players in the game and decrease the huge dropout rate of players.

All those who agree/disagree, supporters/non-supporters are requested to write their views here.

Thank you for lending your time.
Question: Who controls the HTPI treasury?
A doubt to be cleared: This is a COMPLETE NOT FOR PROFIT initiative.
How do you check on a person's inventory? (To confirm that they are really poor and not secretly holding on to a I10A10W10F10 Ruby Gladius for example)
for Skuwak: good question. That is something that came to my mind too before writing this thread. First of all, if he has got it enchanted from someone else, or got it from the market, he will obviously be caught from his transfer log. Secondly, It will be clearly checked out how did he lose his gold. For instance to do such a good enchant by himself will cost him around 1 million gold. Such high gold losses can be traced out. In other cases, like having a round shield for instance, hmmm... this is something which has to be looked at since currently, there is no clear way to find out if a person has bought it from artifact shop and stored it. Any ideas on how to deal better with the problem as suggested by Shuwak is greatly appreciated.
for Skuwak: forgot to mention. This can be done only if the person buys it from artifact shop. But currently, all items on artifact shop is very less costly and has less uses. But even then players can buy lots of those artifact shop items and keep it with them.

Then I have a long procedure. His previous combats will be checked to find out how good artifacts he used to use. Then from a good research on his transfer log, roulette bettings, etc, we can find a gr8 deal of how much he has stored in the inventory.

Any better ideas???
Don't forget to check that there is a possibilty for a player to deposit all of their money in clan and they will seems like poor but they have a lot of money in clan.
But it will be shown in his transfer log so this can be found out. Such cheaters won't be covered under this scheme
not a bad idea but the cheaters penalized for breaking game rules shouldn't be covered in this.

If you're poor, enroll more
I agree with bartek if u r poor it's ur own fault and ur inability to manage money doing all the pvp rapidly having fun and asking for money from the hardworkers. It can also increase the number beggers and won't motivate players to manage money themselves.
Limit this offer to newbies who don't recognize AP rules at level 5 or castle upgrades. Mid and high level players normally know how the game works and don't need this support.
Seems like a very good idea, if you limit the HTPI to lower levels (eg; levels 4 - 8). Higher level players should know how to properly handle their gold, and it's no one else's business if they're in roulette debt.

lvl 10 - below 7000 gold
lvl 11 - below 8000 gold
lvl 12 - below 9000 gold
lvl 13 - below 10000 gold

This is just my opinion, but perhaps the amount of gold needed to be considered poor per level could be a bit more balanced.

Something like this would help out a lot of players, and maybe even encourage some of the lower level players having monetary problems to stick around for a bit longer ;)

agreed.

However, if u plan to carry this out.
Make sure that 1 person is only entitled to 1 gold aid.
Multis are not allowed to apply.
Players level 3 or below cannot apply.

I know this may contradict what Nutella have said like helping newbies instead of experienced players but setting that level 3 limit prevents players from creating too many accounts (not stating their multis on profile) and train to level 3 easily to get the aid. Then do the same to his or her undeclared multis and lastly, transfer all gold to the main. Once his or her main gets blocked, the gold is lost permanently or in other words, wasted.
Ok. On second thought, I think this idea should not go through.

Unlike in the real world, u won't die from having not gold in this game. The reason why the real world has assistance scheme is that if u have no money, u will starve to death or your children and so on.

Enrolling to get enough gold maybe troublesome but it serves as a lesson for you to learn the importance of gold and saving up in this game.

Lastly, before starting a game, normally u would check up on the game features and look at some guides to see which class suits you better.
We have kind players who created the guides in help section but new players aren't making the effort to read them.

china_blue99 's "Way to make some money" guide is in the help section and we still have players posting a thread right below it with the title, "How to make money?" or some similar titles. O.o
if the person bought a full arts set then ?

if he buy a sword of might and steel boots steel criussor longbow ring of abdiaction *2 pendent of despair and dragon shield then he will sure be poor

so how can u figure that one out ?
I am locking this thread. Will make a new one with updated features according to the comments given till now.
