Long string is considered posting a word/symbol with an additional 'add-on part', to make it long enough for extra eye-catching, or express the tone of the message. For users with smaller screens or a sense for spelling, this can be quite disruptive.
An example: Instance of 'long'. If someone were to post this as 'loooooooong', then it can be considered as long string.
- Enforcement
Moderators will begin to enforce the new rule at 0:00, 27th of April, server time. The rule will be enforced in ALL sub forums*.
Any topics/posts prior to 27 April will be moderated in a 'more polite' way. A private message may be sent to inform the players. At worst, the thread will be deleted, but no punishment will be given during this period. Please observe that the old interpretation of the rules still applies and may cause punishments.
Any violation will get a warning ban or heavier punishment depending on the case. Repetitive violations will be punished harder.
§ 1 – Both topic content and titles:
Up to two redundant letters are allowed in each word (spaces included). Only one, or in a few cases two, enlarged words are allowed in each sentence if it is important to get the intended emphasis. The default arrow looks like this "-->". Strings that are not words may not be longer then 5 characters, including spaces.
A few different examples:
1. looong
2. loonng
3. ===>>
4. looooong
5. lllooonnnggg
6. l o n g
7. ----->
Cases 1, 2 and 3 are acceptable. Cases 4 to 7 are not acceptable.
§ 2 - topic title:
Forum users are recommended to create messages with a header that appropriately illustrates its content. The maximum length of a string that is not a word is 5 characters. Only one such string is allowed. | closed by Lord Erebes (2010-04-28 13:37:23) |
