Author | Maximising faction and hunters guild points in hunts |
I have changed to not asking for assistance in hunts as I was of the idea that you got a significant reduction in hunters guild points if you did so - especially if you consider teh points your partner gets as well.
I therefore figured if a hunt was too hard on my own I would wait until I leveleed up and could do it.
However, someone posted somewhere, and I cannot seem to find where, that the increase in creatures after a successful win is less if you have asked for assistance.
Is this true? And if so, in the long term is it technically better to always ask for hunt assistance as the lower increments in creature numbers will mean you get more fights that you can win, and therefore overll will end up with more available hunters guild and faction skill points?
Many thanks for knowledgeable people letting me know teh truth.
I may diversify into a second question as to whether there is likely to be any chance of links from the help section into sites made by people on here eg the Witchammer one so that there is a more easily referenced help section.
Thanks again and sorry for rambling, I shall take hiking boots off now. | Is this true?
Yes, but it doesn't matter because:
The amount of growth in case of victory: N=n*1.69^f
n = original amount in hunt
N = new amount next time
f = factions skill points that the main hunter gained during the hunt | Forgot to mention, HG point gained equals to skill point gained multiplied by 2.
I believe these should answered your questions. | Is this true? And if so, in the long term is it technically better to always ask for hunt assistance as the lower increments in creature numbers will mean you get more fights that you can win, and therefore overll will end up with more available hunters guild and faction skill points?
it works out for every 1hg point you get, the hunt increases 30%
even if its 1x0.5fsp from a hunt or 2x0.25fsp, only thing you have to remember is you need to get at least 0.05 or 0.1fsp each time you ask for assist (as hunt size increases by ~5/10% each time reguardless if you don't get enough fsp, can't remember which), otherwise asking only -then- becomes less efficient | So wit this in mind - if you always asked for assist from the very beginning, so really easy hunts. And then always went afk, or whatever so that your partner did all the killing, then the creature number would not increase.
Therefore you could have someone create a character for others to "farm" for easy hunt assists?
I am not suggesting this as something I would do, but as a potential loophole that may need fixing.
I guess in practice this is unlikely unless you have 2 people who do a swop with each others charcters. Would it fall under staged battle or does it miss that one as well.
Returning with more questions again. | I think the post before answerd my question before I posed it only I managed to post before I read it. Man I like convoluted sentances. | Im a bit off-topic, but if you wanna save up money, gather up money (10 enrolls per 1 fight) it is better to always ask for help, as in the end you will end up doing more fights :) | From what I know, the hunt size increase is relative to the FSP the hunter recieves. (I read that the size changes by a factor 1.69^[FSP recieved])
There is also a minimum increase (somewhere around 5%, possibly slightly less)
HG points awarded for the hunter is also relative to the FSP recieved (2*[FSP] for hunter, fixed 0.1 for assistant)
If these formulae are correct, it does not matter to your own HG point tally if you ask assistance or fight alone as long as you kill at least the amount equivalent with the minimum increase (around 0.095 FSP, or 19% of the creatures). If you kill less, you will 'lose' HG points since your hunt will grow more than you get points for.
(The same reasoning applies for FSP)
In a global perspective, the most HG points are awarded if the hunter asks assistance and kills 100% by themself. This renders 1 HG point for the hunter and 0.1 for the assistant (unless this was changed lately). The downside of that battle would be that the global FSP yield would be lessened, since the assistants FSP is capped at 0.25.
(This took so long to type that plenty of it was said already, but I'll post it anyway) | QATC | closed by Lord Pantheon (2010-01-20 03:12:01) |
