This was experienced by alot of older players in this game about half a year ago. that was when the economy in this game was at its worst. i remember the rich people (people who could afford it) used to buy ALL of the mercury every hour from every mining place on the map and sell it on the market for extreme prices. since this game runs on mercury (all of the magic things need mercury for production) everyone was forced to buy mercury off the market for 100+ gold it's usual price. all of it in mining on the map was bounght in 2 seconds after the shifts ended so it was impossible to do anything. im just saying how easy it is for a few people to get really rich and powerful and control everything :) |

Well, you must already be rich to do this.
Anyway, people could stop buying mercury while facilities would stil produce mercury each hour. The naughty rich people would eventualy end their money and will inevitably have to sell the mercury at a normal price to get their money back. |

Mercury control was a problem at times, because there was just one mercury producing facility on the map. This time is long gone. Now there are three and they have 55'000+ mercury in stock total.
But just try your scheme - it's legal after all - and have fun selling back your mercury! ^_^ |

depends on how much rich people team up on this. we have lots of millionaires in this game. well anyway what happened half a year ago was just as i described above. the game was in really big economical trouble for over 2 weeks. and i have observed was was happening and it was crazy nobody could do anything about it and while we all suffered and were forced to buy overpriced mercury, the people that were controlling the economy were getting extremely rich. (my character that is blocked right now is dartwador2. it was one of the first characters in this game) |

Second, it's very risky because you never know where the mines get filled by administration. |

It "worked" somehow - I wouldn't tell people really became filthy rich through this scheme - but the server settings were different then. Remember when Wizards had to use resources to create mini-artifacts?
Today game is different, and this trick is gone.
