Hi,
what do you think is the best weapon to enchant at lvl 8 for an attacking race like DE, Barb or Elf?
Is it the Thief dagger?

costs is less an issue - i am more thinking of damage potential.
The 10% on the thief dagger are equally useful at all levels.
While 4 more attacks points become at high levels less useful - i guess. |
Each point of attack will give you roughly 5% more damage regardless of level.
So 4 attack is better than 10% extra damage from thief dagger ( and also attack applies to shooters also while dagger bonus only works on melee attacks ).
The dagger is valuable though because it offers more attack while being used on a shield slot. But main hand weapon offers more damage in general.
However if you have 1 enchanted weapon it does not matter which slot it occupies. You can have enchanted sword of might and non-enchanted thief dagger or vice-versa and the result will be the same.
The dagger has the bonus that it will be usable on higher level too when you can use Mithril sword or Ruby Gladius to upgrade your damage from mainhand. Sword has benefit of bigger durability - can repair it a LOT more times. |
I didn't know each attack point give about 5% more damage.

I guess the difference is that at lvl 12 i might not want to use an enchanted sword of might anymore because i can use a Ruby Gladius instead.
So maybe for atacking races lets say at lvl 12.
Ruby Gladius + Enchanted Thief Dagger > Enchanted Sword of might + Tower Shield.

I guess ... but I want to use the enchanted weapon now at lvl 8.
Despite the above I think I enchant the thief dagger and not the sword.
I loose 3-4 defense but should gain a lot in attack and can upgrade the main hand as i lvl up.
The durability issue is worrying but the weapon won't be used every day so should last me a long time I hope. |
