Attacking neutral creatures is only possible anytime the regular combat is possible:
1) Your troops must be 100% ready;
2) Your character must not be in a combat challenge;
3) The "Luck"* parameter of your character mustn't be negative;
4) Your character must have company of troops recruited in the army.
So if someone goes afk, he cannot hunt for another hour? or play any other battle? |

| #5 Yeah just took him as an example but basically elves at lvl 1 have 0 defence.. Handing them a light axe would mean negative defence. I wonder what's the reason for not allowing it.. Another form of min AP maybe.. :) |

The reason is the formula for damage dealing doesnt include the situations with negative defence. It would need extended programming to handle and its slightly illogical too. So the easier option was - no one can enter with negative defence. |

| Oh well, doesn't matter, the rule only applies to troops doesn't it? So it would take a Lv 6 player to wear rings, have low LG, playing a new faction and recruit some Tier 1s. |

I tried it ages back with orientia, and was still ambushed by brigands quest. Guess same should apply for thief ambushes :? |

The only thing that matters is whether attack > defense or not, it doesn't matter whether defense < 0. |

but i see your point, only hero had -ve def, the troops per se had 1 def each.
