Is there any way to get wood, ore, mercury, sulfur, crystals and gems apart from buying them?

You can also get wood and ore from your hunts.
And when you level up, you also get those resources as shown here:

No problem, you only forgot about hunts because you have been ambushing me too much. And no, I will not drop any resources no matter how hard you hit me with those enchanted weapons.

I assume you meant buying from other players, so I didn't mention it in my previous post. Resources can also be bought from other players thru the market or by transfering. If by transfering, please note sale of resources is not secure and you should use proper descriptions. | | Buy from market or map, trade with players for the resources and pay them the required gold (at least level 3 to transfer anything), hunts (when you're hunter guild is at least level 3) and when you level up, you get some additional gold and resources. | | some hunts come with wood and ore as reward. but, no gem, crystal, mercury and sulfur | There is at least on other strange way to generate resources.
If you sell an artifact you get a refund based on the shop value, including resources. Some of the artifacts on the map require less resources to buy than they refund when you sell them.
A Combat Staff, for example, costs 8090 gold 3 Wood and 2 Crystal from the Staff Workshop in East Bay. Selling it (with 0 durability) gives you 2996 gold 4 Crystal and 4 Gems. Net gain 2 Crystal and 4 Gems. Net loss of 3 Wood. Still a gain of resources overall, although you do lose gold.
