AuthorBalancing economy
Greetings. I created this topic to propose a change in the economic system of the game, increasing the demand and/or decreasing the supply of resources. By resources i hereby mean wood, ore, sulphur, crystals, gems and mercury. I am well aware of the fact that even minute changes in this field can lead to drastic results. Nevertheless i'd like to state my reasons in the next paragraph and offer possible solutions in the last.
Today at around 16 o'clock i wanted to enroll somewhere and wasn't able to do so without running around all the map for roughly 20 minutes. When i arrived at a location where enrollment was possible just before i started my journey, the jobs were all taken. As you can imagine, i found this quite frustrating. I know being able to always work in the same place without travelling would spoil the game, but this is ridiculous. Now it could be argued that this shortage of paid jobs is to represent the current crisis in economy, but i doubt it. Furthermore this is a fantasy game.
The facilities are loaded with resources and often out of gold, which leads to me believing that resources aren't bought often enough.
I think there are multiple ways to engage this problem. The most adequate seem to me to either cut away/reduce drastically resources given back when selling artifacts to the game or to include resources into repairing costs. Other measures would include simply dropping the gold and raise the resources paid for artifacts.
Even if this topic is pretty much tl;dr, i'd appreciate it if it was taken into consideration. Best regards,

Elgoran.
I concur.
Including resources in repairs sounds like a good idea.
Also, there should be a minimum price limit when posting resources on the market. The price shouldn't be below that of the manufacturer's price. It doesn't work that way anywhere in this world, so why should it in the fantasy world. Manufacturer's price is the lowest possible.
lol!

viva free market! ;)
Good idea including resources into repair even if it does become complicated, but repair wouldnt make an enormous difference alone
If you have difficulties to enroll, try this method :

1. Check the server time (look at your top right screen), and note it.

2. Check the facilities in your area, and pay close attention to its
"Balance" & "Workshift ends at: xx:yy". Let's say for our example that
Workshift ends at : 16:00, and it has enough balance to pay our wages.

3. If the current time in #1 is (let's say) 15:58, and you find that the
facilities has enough balance, WAIT for 2 minutes until 16:00 and you can
enroll when the Workshift is over

4. This is the secret... pay attention :)
If you can enroll right after the workshift ends, 1 hour later you will
find no difficulty to enroll again in those facilities. Try it :)

5. If you still can not find the facilities in your area, well.. the only
option left is you have to move to another area. But before you do that,
check step #1 & #2 on facilities in your destination area first.

Trust me.. you don't want to waste 2 or 3 minutes only to find that all
facilities in your destination area are full :p
Its simple, to fix the economy problem, the Artifacts shop needs to be transfer into Production Facilities. Or Increasing the ressource needs and decreasing the gold needed would make up for it too, as it will push people to buy ressources more often from mines and in that way will refill mines' gold. Easy enough
Also, there should be a minimum price limit when posting resources on the market.

Second hand goods, Second hand prices, I always say!

You want to know how to put a damper on this problem?

Wage cuts.

By cutting the wages, we effectively allow the mines to retain more money per person, to allow more people to enroll.

And I don't mean 1 or 2 gold less, I mean 30-40 Gold less off the base wage.

Most of you won't like it. But if you want a solution, wage cuts could be a possibility worth looking at.

Mind you, no matter how there admins were to solve it, there would still be a bunch of us with our "Insert complaint here" Picket signs, ready to complain again!
the best way to balance is to stop refill mines with money and resources.
Solution:
Need to put all artifact production on map.
With AP rules all players have to buy arts.
Need more events (tournaments, dragon hunts, and so on to use arts and gain extra money from those events, to buy new arts and keep economy flow.)

Also need an option to sell resources back to Empier with 90-95% buy value. Then no admins need to refill - everything will go it`s own flow.
#2
It doesn't work that way anywhere in this world

Don't be so sure, IRL it happens quite often that a resource get sold at a lower price than its production cost, for various reasons.. trust an ex-R&D chief from the food industry ;)

Another alternative for getting more enrollment slots is to get every player to switch to wizard, get faction skill lvl 3 and then start making mini artifacts.. :D

No, seriously, nobody seems to notice that if you stay a little in a location and refresh your page, new slots appear quite often, specially in the factories (well, when somebody buy a staff, it takes 8 to 15 people to fill all the slots and reabsorb the 8k golds) they just don't last very long.. so you need to enroll very quickly as soon as they appears, that's all.

I often get a job in this way :)
