Author | Repairing, is it worth it? |
Is it worth repairing arts compared to selling them when they are used up, and buying a new one? Is there a chart somewhere showing the differece in total cost doing both? |
Repairing is for enchanted, rare, and hunting arts. Definitely not for shop arts. |
well generally, it is cheaper to sell the weapon and buy a new one, since when you sell the used up weapon, you can sell it for 65% of the original price, so you are only paying 35% for the next weapon.
but if you are just letting other black smith repair you art, most of them well give you discount, so the difference is not that great.
and also, the weapons that has been enchant can not buy back from the artifact shop, so you have to let black smith repair you weapon that has been enchanted |
Repairing costs 40% of the full artifact cost (according to the prices of the shop).
The Durability returns is about 10% to 90% of the max durability depending on the skill of the repairer. Max Durability is reduced also by 1 permanently
Generally, if you can re-buy the item easily, you should not repair it as it is more cost-efficient to just re-buy the art. |
Even if you get really good smith discounts, it generally still not a good idea to repair shop arts:
90% repair costs (100% cost) you the same as re-buying an art.
But 90% repair only gives you 90% durability and -1 max durability.
Re-buying gives you 100% durability and no max durability loss. |
There are some Hunters Arts that are worth repairing early on.
Take Master Hunters armour. Current Market value around 17K to 18K gold. Repairing costs 800 a time. You can get another 9 durability (one at a time) by repairing it yourself for a total cost of 7200 gold. Much more cost effective than buying a new suit of armour.
You just need to find the artifacts that it works for.
Have Fun
