Author | can you bet on duels? - reopen |
I reopened this because the original thread was closed.
Someone ask whether you can stake on a duel, and a mod answered no, saying that it's considered a "bookmarker activity".
I don't know if that's right. The definition is, "taking bets on sports or other events with paying the winnings in money's worth." I had interpreted it to mean betting on an external event, likely one that you're not a part of. But staking on your own duel, is that not different from the Two Tower game? | No
3.21. Any banking and bookmaker activities are prohibited without exception.
Banking activities - granting loans with interest, receiving money from other players on deposit accounts, pawn shop business, insurance operations or any other bank activities.
Leasing artifacts, Thief Guild Invitation and other non-monetary valuables is allowed.
Borrowing and loaning gold with no interest is allowed. Every transaction must be signed properly, indicating the terms of loan.
Bookmaker activities - taking bets on sports or other events with paying the winnings in money's worth. | It is a bookmaker activity and betting on any event, one you are part off or not, outside of the game facilitation of betting is not legal.
Staking on a Two Towers game beyond the listed possible stake is also illegal

3.19. Unofficial stakes on gold, resources and items in the "Two Towers" game are prohibited.
If you start asking again, when you have already been told the answer (it's bookmaking, it's illegal) twice and the thread closed twice. You are just not wanting to follow the rules and the advice of the moderators here. | closed by Lady Takesister (2009-09-18 07:01:42) |
