Elves are popular maybe at beggining ,because of their bowmens,but then at higher level is most popular Dark elf and Demon

Just kidding. But as at low level, factions are pretty much balanced, I guess it has to do with the aura of Elves in modern fantasy : wise, respecful of nature but deadly. |

I agree with DerMagus that in the stories elves are described like that and I don't quite get it from where J.R.R. Tolkien took that nice face of elves. :)

I think Elves are popular because they have a good reputation in most fantasy games. They are the good guys and with plenty of shooters, allowing a defending fighting style particularly suited to hunting.
They have a touch of magic from level 5 on and have good spellcasters in their army (Sprites, Druids.) They are very good in Ambushes too as soon as Elite Forest Keepers are available. Their Druids' Stoneskin spell works wonders in low AP environments. Luck Talents and Favoured enemy let them inflict memorable damage from time to time.
I tend to think that they have a nicer learning curve than other factions. |
| i simply play elves because i think they are one of the strongest races in hunt and thiefing (and that's what i do until i have a high level). Good movement, good overall speed and spread attack/battle dance. And of course they really have the very best lvl 7 creature :) |

I play whatever the heck I feel like. Started Necro, went Dark Elf, went Barb, went Wizard...and now I rotate as I get bored ;)
Will do new faction next IF it is ever introduced to this server--else maybe, Knight.

| Coz at level 1 - 8 elves have many advantages, like they have more lucks, inits, speed .. and they can kill fast, but remember that Elves have low HP .. they have stoneskins at level 5 and up, but their low HPs will not resist on magic .. :( against wizards and mage-DE at level 5 - 7, they are bad .. at level 8 and up : Dark elves will kill them coz of shrews .. :) |

you dont see the answer? they have more lucks, inits, speed ... luck rlz in game up to 7 lvl OR higher... someone play Elf faction because of HoMM , someone coz Elves are popular because they have a good reputation in most fantasy games...

elevs not like most factions can change into what ever they want from a melee to shooters from wackers to run away,also from might to deffend very changable faction
but what is most important they are colourful!!! |
| ive been using elves at lvl2...but i find that they lose to most factions most of the time in duels. They don't have any special powers either (necro can summon and demons can 'gate'). I dont see what the big deal about elves is. |
