what are benefits of spirit link |
I guess they are pretty self-explanatory: each time the stack receives 75 damage, the necromancer is credited with 1 mana point. If you expect a stack to be hit, at least you may earn something back (paying for resurrection, for example).
Not sure if it's worth 5 talent points though! |
hmm i had the impression that spirit link gives away free mana at high levels. Like when you're fighting lots of mobs receiving tons of dmge on to your 1 apparition stack thats walling your bowman. that few thousand dmge gives u lots of mana ^^ |
i think damage received is capped at total HP of the stack |
Necromancers can choose one of their troops as cast spirit link. When the creature get 75 damage by any kind of attack, the hero will get 1 mana. |
i think damage received is capped at total HP of the stack
Any Spirit-link using Necromancer to confirm? |

Any Spirit-link using Necromancer to confirm?
confirmation here....
though don't look whole battle.... it last for ages...
SIDERISKA gained over 50 mana from his vampire suffering... |

first spirit link on apparition (3:9), i didnt get any mana (486 dmg)
second spirit link on apparition (2:9) - also the only stack, i didn't get any mana either (702 dmg)
please ignore the combat itself, i did badly and its embarrassing :( |
Spirit link only give 1 mana for every 75 ACTUAL damage dealt.
If you have 1 vamp in a stack which receives hundred of damage you will only get (upto) 30 towards your next mana point.
If you have a stack of Ghosts / Appas you only get mana credited for hits against them and nothing for a miss. |
i didnt get any mana
you didn't cause you didn't spirit linked...
same as knight escort... if he don't choose unit, escort won't happen
+ as #9 said Spirit link only give 1 mana for every 75 ACTUAL damage received. |
for DEATHisNEAR:
are you replying to me? of course my apps got hit, else it would only show "miss" and i wouldn't know how much the damage is |
for Barilla:
i did.... you can see from the system msg, especially at the end when there's only 1 stack left |
#11
No I was not replying to anyone (except #1 I guess), just explaining how it works. |
for Straws:
your 1st action: Straws summons Phantom of Skeletal bowmen.
2: Straws summons Phantom of Vampires.
3: Straws raises 1 Apparitions.
4: Straws establishes Spirit link with Apparitions. - yes, but with 1 appa... how many HP has 1 appa?? 75??
every 75 damage received on HP of stack you get 1 mana...
so if vamps has 150 HP left and someone hits you for 1000 dmg you will get ONLY 2 mana... now clear?? |
Establishing a spirit link with lets say one appariton or ghost doesn't earn you any mana even if that particular unit suffers massive damage. Tried that already and it counts like it got only it's max hp damage. |
for Barilla:
i already know that, i think damage received is capped at total HP of the stack
because from your post #7, though you mentioned confirmation here, SIDERISKA gained over 50 mana from his vampire suffering..., but i didnt get how this part shows anything bout damage dealt & total HP
just misunderstanding on my part (: |
#9 Totally TRUE!!
I've used spirit link on my single ghost to take retal from huge stack of enemy and got hit, then I got no mana at all coz my ghost HP is only 8 |
Vampires are a special case since they ressurect themselves by draining life from their opponents. So this particular unit can be a source of big ammounts of mana. If they get hit each turn for 75 and restore it withing their retaliations and attacks they can give mana to their master until their enemy is defeated. That's why spirit link is quite valuable in long lasting combats like survival tournaments. On the other hand in short combats it generates insignificant ammounts of mana. |
For lvl 5 compared with knight escort, spirit is crap! |
Well there are some racial abilities that are more and less useful. DE's elemental call or wizards' magic mirror aren't great either. Some come in handy only in certain situations. That's just the way it is. |
