What thing determine the monster formation?
Imo a single huge stack of 1000 farmer is easier than 5 stack of 150 farmer.
Plis tell me |
If you are asking what determines how many stacks hunt creatures are split during a hunt, it's completely random, and no one knows the 'program formula'. It can be anything from 2-5 stacks, although someone said they have seen a 1-stack hunt before. |
1 stack was on .ru around the time it first opened, it is no longer here or there |
I don't know if for the other factions is the same, but for the Elf (meaning, my case) I can guess the number of stacks by the colour of the hunt. Meaning, usually, I have, for the same number of monsters, the colour for the difficulty is different for fewer stacks from more stacks. |
I can guess the number of stacks by the colour of the hunt
that doesn't work for me. when you loose a hunt and do it again it can be a completely different amount of stacks - even though the difficulty didn't change. |
sorry for double posting:
i have to admit that my statement above doesn't mean that it is not possible what cgsmcmlxxv said. but different numbers of stacks could also have the same difficulty... |
I'm quite sure it is random and the difficulty does not change based on number of stacks. |

I disagree, Takesister. Elf has nice spread attack with sprites and elite forest keepers which makes the case of more stacks to be easier. Usually, I know what numbers of monsters are in each colour and if the colour is not what I expected to be, then I know the monsters are split in fewer or more stacks. This is a pure observation which works for me and it's not an official help for this game. |
the color is decided from the record against that particular monster, so it has nothing to do with how many stacks there are... |
#9: This is a pure observation - please, read everything |
#10 - CGSMCMLXXV, MrNiceGuy was making a statement that, I imagine, was his opinion or observation of the tendencies of stack distribution. He wasn't directing it at your post #8 so I really don't see why you are trying to correct him.
If MrNiceGuy is stating an opinion on this phenomenon that is contrary to yours, that does not mean he is making a claim that your statement is false. It is just his opinion, as your statement is your opinion. Unless there is evidence to the contrary, either opinion could be valid. Please allow others the luxury of their own opinion.
I also believe that the number of stacks is random. This is my opinion, and I can in no way guarantee it is the case. I am happy to be corrected by someone that actually knows, one way or another.

I think its totally random.
In Homm, number of stack depend on hero's army strength. The stronger the hero, the number of stack is fewer. But it is a different world here. |
I believe CGSMCMLXXV and his posts. His reflections are good, and i think that is progrramed so for every faction, maybe really for elfs, when the difficulty raise up,number of stacks is lesser. About me,we could compare some fights at same level factions and difficulties of hunts and find some acceptable result,It could help some peoples in hunt for better tactic |
My opinion is that regardless of the colour I can work out that I will get one or more stacks! I have never been wrong so far.
If I want to hear your opinion then mail me and I will let you know what it is ;) |
IMHO, the red hunts are rarely more than three stacks as it would be insane to fight 5 stacks of huge numbers of vampires as an elf. |

https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?lt=-1&warid=8355067 - 5 stacks of efk's (red hunt - top hunter entry level 7)
check the top hunters and you will see more than 3 stacks. :) |
from MoonVampire's log
eg.
Hobgoblins
29813 - 2 stacks won

22933 - 5 stacks won

17641 - 2 stacks won

17641 - 4 stacks lost

for the same number of monsters, the colour for the difficulty is different for fewer stacks from more stacks.
i thought the difficulty is simply based on top hunter record, it wont change for the same number of same creature, unless someone broke the record for that level |
sorry +18, try clicking on the diffculty indicator, it links you to the top hunter record for that creature, for your faction and your level |
Totally random. I was an active hunter at lvl5 gunning for all sorts of records at lvl5. From my experience, its purely random.
Thus trying to predict stack number from difficulty level of hunts is just pure speculation. For players who do not agree with me, can you confirm the number of stacks you will be encountering in every game. If you can't confirm, it'll just prove my above-mentioned point.

The reason why most top records have similar number of stacks is because its easier for the player to deal with that number as compared to other differing number of stacks
For example, its easier to deal with 2 stacks of bowmen than 5 stacks of bowmen. |
