I see the hunts have colour gradings. My question is, how do they get those ratings. Is it based on how successful (or not) people of a similar level have been, etc. I ask because I had a gold hunt (which is meant to be tough), and I had minimal arts, and won with 37% left on my heart meter at the end.

White / Green / Yellow /Red / Red with exclamation mark
So yellow (not gold) is medium.
It is based on the record of you faction eand level. |

check that numbers compare with your faction. YOu can see some example, it will you a good idead how touch they are |
Color - Dificulty level
Grey - piece of cake (min ap or no arts if you are allowed)
Green - easy (see above)
Yellow - medium (min ap or just a little bit above)
Red - hard (close to or record for 2nd or 3rd place)
Red with exclamation mark - new record |

and note that sometimes, the color of hunts are not representative of the difficulty.
it's especially true at the levels where some players have used upgraded units with diamonds to make records.
it only says you if you are close to the record or not.
i remember when i was level6 DE, i was unable to defeat grey hunt of golems with full arts (difficulty was the same than red! hunts, but it was only a grey hunt because diamond users killed a lot more golems than me with shrews and hit/run) |

this isn't a new record. this only means you might be close to a record. sometimes the top record may be over double this amount. |

i think you are wrong.
i never met a red! hunt where the number wasn't at least the record.
if you hunt 700 creatures, and the record is 701, you will only have a red hunt, not a red! one.
i have some hunt records like that.
some hunts with only red mark that i did with full arts to have the 2nd place.
sometimes you can't have a new record with a red! hunt, but it's because 3 players have already defeated this ammount of monsters.
exemple: titans at level8 dark elf. i have red! mark when i meet 13 of them, but if i kill them i will not have any record: 3 players already killed 13 titans. |
