i exploded the DE record for ghosts:
Karsot [8] - 1461
Dess [8] - 865
GabrielSylar [8] - 838
2 more successful hunts than the 2nd: 865->1124->1461
and i stole wizard's 1st place of all factions :

to 3: it was not that boring.
i had to remember the hit/miss counters of the ghosts (i tried to never hit with shrews after 2 hits, and never with hero after 2 misses)
i also had to remember the number of turns of the hero (to know when the speed of ghosts will grow up)
and shrews had 18.6 init, ghost 10.
i would have need 20 init to play 2 times when they play only 1, and do safe hit and run.
with only 18.6 init, sometimes i would have played only 1 turn between 2 ghosts turns.
to avoid this, i must constantly look at the ATB scale, and sometimes wait with my shrews instead of attacking.
to 4:
sorry, i did not use min AP ;)
i had only 2 defense, because defense is useless in hunts like this one.
ghosts deals 2000+ damages, they would have kill any stack in one hit, except maybe if i could have at least 100 defense.
i tried to max the potential of my shrews with offensive artifacts, but i didn't have enough money to buy the best arts (the expensive full great hunter set)
instead, i used sword of might, 2*ring of inspiration, shoes of aspiration, master hunter bone helmet, hunter shirt, great hunter amulet, master hunter dagger.
it gives a total of +8 attack, +2 morale, +1 luck, +11%init, for an affordable price (i spent less than 1k gold for the hunter shirt, and i found the bone helmet and the dagger in previous hunts)
i had only to pay the rings, the shoes and the amulet.
min AP (sword of might only) gives only +5 attack, +3% init.
i would have failed with that.
you may think it was easy when you look at the battle, but it was a very close battle: dont forget that neutral creatures increases their speed every 10 turns.
i had only 1-2 more turns before ghosts reach 8 speed and can catch my shrews (and kill all of them in 1 hit)
i think next hunt (1900) is possible with great hunter set (or at least master hunter set), but i don't have enough money for now ;) |

i just take a look gain at the fight: i had 0 more turns ^^
it was closer than i thought.
ghost just reached 8 speed at the last turn.
i couldn't have escaped anymore (except by only running, and hit only with hero), but i wouldn't have kill a lot of ghosts like this.
50 more ghosts and i failed the hunt ;) |
for Karsot:
mabey if 100 more you`d have failed ,50 would onley kill about 7-10 shrews and you can kill them in the next turn :P |
they hit harder than that.
50 ghosts deals 150-350 damages.
reduced to 130-304 because my shrews have 7 defense and the ghosts have only 4 attack.
they would have kill 8-19 shrews, not 7-10 :p
Ok, if it's 8 i could still have a chance to win.
let's say, 60 more ghosts and i lose ;) |
