GMB are faster than xbow, they can shot them down before..
This talking about Elf VS Knight. But Xbow are one of the deadliest troops for merc quests: the monster ones become very easy with them. |

| hey, FIRST: this topic isabout GB vs xbow.. my opinion is that if u have favoured xbow, ( guardians also nice if favoured ) shoot 2 times, favoured, bb xbow, and knockback, GBS win in my opinion, for Elfmoon: efks can rock vs guards, atk 2 times before them, nice dam, u can strike 2 times or atk and run, and with phantom... Remember before the xbow strikes u can phantom the GB ;D |

Don't know what 'full-arts' you and Shebali were wearing, but looking at the Hero's stats,

She has you beat in every department except Morale, and the battle was more or less settled before it even began. Her 'full arts' seems to be way better than yours. :p
So, while not implying that knights are better/worse than Elves, that battle is not really a good comparison. :)
PS: Just outta curiosity, since you were ambushing a human player, why did you spread and expose your X-Bows, instead of protecting them with a wall of Monks?
Only the enemy's most potent attack unit can POTENTIALLY break down a wall of Monks with it's very first strike, and that possibly only with Luck and deals somewhere in the higher Damage Range. Even then, your X-Bows will still get at least 1 shot off - an AIMED SHOT that negates that troop defense to 0. Even if you don't kill it, it will severely bring down the numbers significantly.
Most players will think twice about using their most potent unit to try and break the wall of Monks down. :)
I have been in ambushes against DEs, Elves, Demons etc, in close to/full arts, and have killed full stacks of Hydras, EFKs, Hell Horses etc, with 1 Aimed Shot.:D
Knights pretty much rocks when in the thief/ambusher position. But pretty much sux when being ambushed, even if wearing good arts. haha.. :p |

This kind of comparison is as pointless as who is strongest between Batman and Superman and the like.
On a 1 to 1 basis, Grand Master Bowmen are just better, simply because it's an upgraded tier 3, while Crossbowmen is an upgraded tier 2. Now, if you throw favored enemy, talent, artifacts or just the number of each in their respective stacks, anything can happen. Especially since these units tend to travel with a whole army around ^_^ |

Hey, FIRST, you should not forget to take recruitcount of the units we talk about in concideration.
Or do you compare 1 rogue to 1 bowman of knights?! No, you can't because at levels 1 and 2 the knight has 3 times as much bowmen.
Of course ONE rogue can kill more than one bowman.
And then maybe you should not forget what affects knockshot! the hitpoints of each unit, and 90 xbows have a BIT ore hp than 30 elf bowmen :P
But if you really want to compare rogues/bowmen, xbows/elfbowmen, then i have to say that 14 hp and 2 times 5-8 damage win over 10 hp and 2-8 damage :P |
