Authordo caravans get harder when racial lv up?
topic
i dont think so
u dont think so? :S
nope, but they do show changes when you change faction.
Caravans only get harder when you (to my understanding):

1. Character Level up
2. Face the exact same Caravan after defeating it
3. Thief Guild Level up

Cheers,
LS
Is it sure when changing faction the caravans change too? From my small experience I think it does (I was losing many caravans as DE and when changing to Demon they seemed to get easier), but can others confirm this???
Caravans do change depending on faction.

Caravan diffculties are equivalent to:

1.0 - DE
1.3 - Demon
1.4 - Barbarian
1.4 - Necro
1.6 - Elf
1.7 - Knight
1.8 - Wizard
All Caravans gets 20% harder when you character Level up.
A Caravan gets 5% harder after defeating it.
A Caravan gets 2% weaker after losing to it.

No other factor affects caravans. Note that at a given Caravan Type and for a given strength, the blend of creatures may vary slightly.

Didn't know that. Another reason *NOT* to be a wizard thief!!
1.4 - Necro
1.6 - Elf

it is easier for necro than it is for an elf? i don't think so

Ermm.. why can't I see this? I have never seen this anywhere..

As if DE is not suitable enough for thieving, they have to go make their caravans the easiest of the lot. Very nice.

And what do u know.. Knights have the 2nd hardest. Nicer still. I love it ! :)
Opppz, typo. Soz.. :p

Ermm.. where can I see this? I have never seen this anywhere..
i think he's referring to the faction of the *caravan*, not of the ambusher
#13:

Don't think so. He meant that the level of difficulty for knight's caravans are 1.8, while those caravans for DE is only 1.0. :)

Fun for us knights, ain't it... Playing a game at almost the highest difficulty, just like we would while playing PlayStation games like Resident Evil. haha.. :D

I have new found respect for all Wizards now. haha.. :)
Pff.. what's wrong with me.. doh..

He meant that the level of difficulty for knight's caravans are 1.7.
you think so?

so for knight the difficult of caravans is 70% higher than for DE?

I find it strange, consider that escort alone usaully is more than enough to kill 3/4 of caravans.
i don't know how you fared with thieving, but i'm around 85% winning rate, most time they are *not* close calls, so i wonder what a dark elf would encounter if they really have it almost half as easier
Also, masterti numbers are probably relative at DE player faction.

For me, for istance, elf caravans are quite easy, while demons one are among the most difficult (damn devils), while knight are somewhat "easy" because xbow shred cavalry caravans to piece with the aimed shot skill
1.0 - DE
1.3 - Demon
1.4 - Barbarian
1.4 - Necro
1.6 - Elf
1.7 - Knight
1.8 - Wizard

What's the source of the information, MasterTI?

My personal feeling are:
DE is the easiest
Demon & Elf are not bad
Knight are very good before lvl 9 or 10
Barb is sort of hard
Necro: I never try as my poor little sk bow :)
Wizard is the worst
Hi all,

Since I was curious to the difficulty of caravans for different factions, as mentioned by MasterTI, I went to do a quick check.

I just took a random sample of a particular type of caravan, and it may or mat not be true for the other types.

Here's what I used to do the sample:
- All 3 players started thieving at combat level 8.
- The comparisons are the first time each player have met that type of caravan.
- Since the type of troops will hardly ever be exactly the same (Orge/Orge Magi, goblins/hobgoblins etc), I just use the most dangerous/highest tier creatures as comparison since those are the ones that posed the biggest threat.)

And here's the result:

DE
--
Tier 6: 7 x 1 Cyclops (units x stack)
Tier 3: 7 x 1 Orcs
Tier 2: 19 x 2 Wolf Riders
https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?lt=-1&warid=12256565

DEMON
-----
Tier 6: 11 x 1 Cyclops (units x stack)
Tier 3: 7 x 1 Orcs
Tier 2: 11 x 1 Wolf Riders & 15 x 1 Wold Raiders
https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?lt=-1&warid=12672270

Knight
------
Tier 6: 13 x 1 Cyclops (units x stack)
Tier 3: 17 x 1 Orcs CHIEFS (!)
Tier 2: 28/29 x 2 Wolf Riders
https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?lt=-1&warid=12499061

If these stats are any indications, then there probably is some truth to what Master TI posted.

DE got 7 Cyclops while knights got 13 of them, almost double the numbers. While both DE and Demon got 7 Orcs, Knight got 17 of them. As if that wasn't bad enough, they were the upgraded version, the Orc Chiefs! The knight also got way more Wolf Rider/Raiders than the other 2 factions.

This may not be conclusive, but the difference in difficulty for the first time these 3 players of different factions met this particular type of caravan is glaring.

Well, if the above data holds true, and if you are a knight (and probably Wizards too) reading this, you will either be absolutely delighted or start to weep after reading this. haha..

So if what MasterTI posted is true, and if you are about to start thieving and you are not a DE, and you prefer an easier route to TG2, then DE is the way for you. But if you want a challenge and wants to pit your skills/tactics against the toughest caravans possible, then Wizard/Knight might suit you. Either way, no good or bad really - just a matter of preference and mentality.

If anyone (from any faction) started thieving at combat level 8, would appreciate it if you could post your numbers for this particular type of caravan here, so we have more data for comparison. Thanks.
Hmm.. Just noticed something else.

Even the stats for the Barb Hero for Knight & Demon caravans are higher and more powerful than the DE (?!).

The Hero stats more or less confirmed what MasterTI posted.

Which leads to an interesting conclusion - If a Wizard and a DE both starts TG at the same time, and if both reach a certain TG level at the same time with the same hours played, and with the same winning %, it basically means that that Wizard is a better player/with better tactics/strategies, since the Wizard have to overcome much harder caravans.

*Not meant to offend anyone with that comment. Just stating the obvious if the above scenario happens. :)
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
